"My whole life is Yours. I give it all, surrendered to Your Name. And forever I will pray, have Your way... Have Your way."

Dear Future Child.

I’d write him/her the lyrics of “With Arms Wide Open by Creed.”

If I had just one wish. Only one demand. I hope you understand. That you can take this life, and hold it by the hand. You can greet the world, with arms wide open. With arms wide open, under the sunlight. Welcome to this place. I’ll show you everything. With arms wide open. Now everything has changed. I’ll show you love. I’ll show you everything. With arms wide open !

I love you baby, I will make sure too be there for you in anything and everything you need, I promise to accept you as you are. And help you grow into a wonderful human being, better than I. Show you what you need to know. Guide you through your ups and down, twists and turns of life. I’ll be your best friend, sister, and teacher. It’s going to be one heck of a journey, but I promise..together we’ll make it !!

 Love, Mommy! :) <3

Arms Wide Open - Misty Edwards

“If you’re passionately in love with Jesus, then you have enough to love the one who rapes you, beats you, kidnaps you, throws you in jail, sticks knives in your throat…You have enough, because you know why you are doing it.”

— Heidi Baker

Arms Wide Open

Misty Edwards

I’ve probably posted this song ten times on this blog, but it never gets old.

See, I’ve always struggled with fear of rejection. A couple of years ago, I was in a place where I said I didn’t care what people thought, but my actions spoke a lot louder than my words.

I was chasing attention and affection from boys — I just wanted to be liked by everyone. I knew I was placing these people on pedestals and elevating their opinions of me, but I didn’t care.

Then I was rejected by someone I really liked, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was overcome with self-pity and wallowing, and then I heard this song for the first time. It convicted me in an instant, and I began to sob.

“If all of life comes down to love, love has to be more than sentiment, or selfishness, or selfish gain.”

It struck such a chord with me, and I still am moved whenever I hear it. If you’ve been struggling with feeling unloved or rejection — just listen to this.

“If anyone’s been looking for love in the wrong places, if you’ve been searching for love — come to Me! Take up your cross, deny yourself, run to Me…”
