Architecture for Dogs at Art Basel Miami Beach

Being the curious and  dog that I am, I had to catch the Architecture for Dogs exhibition at one of the two-hour open houses for dogs held during Art Basel/Miami Art Week in the Design District.

A project by Muji’s Creative Director Kenya Hara, Architecture for Dogs is an architecture collection of 13 pieces that takes dog house design to a whole other level.

The structures were all inspired by dog breeds—the Bichon Frise (Kazuyo Sejima), Beagle (MVRDV), Tea Cup Poodle (Kenya Hara), Shiba (Toyo Ito), Pug (Kengo Kuma), Papillon (Shigeru Ban), Chihuahua (Reiser + Umemoto), Dachshund Smooth (Atelier Bow-Wow), Jack Russell Terrier (Torafu Architects), Boston Terrier (Sou Fujimoto), Japanese Terrier (Hara Design Institute), Spitz (Hiroshi Naito), and Toy Poodle (Konstantin Grcic).

Check out my photos below, watch this video, download your favorite blueprint(s) and get constructing!
