I want to know when did Elena Gilbert have time to sit down and make a legit decision with whom she wants to be with? In this show her choice became an annual thing, so you would think none of us are bothered by it anymore, but out of some reason it annoys the hell out of me. The fact she was rushed to make a choice with whom she wants to be with literally five minutes after she got out of the nightmare her life turned into.
You know what she didn’t get to do? Mourn over her brother, pick a college to which she wants to go to, pick out her Prom dress, decide what’s going to write on her brothers tombstone, properly apologize to her friends for treating them like shit. She wasn’t given the time to turn around herself, to look at the mess her life turned into, to think about the things that happened to her, how she feels about them and how they changed her. How they affected her.
What I’m annoyed with the most is the heaviness of the words used. How is she in love with Damon? Why? When did he make her feel alive? When was this shown that upon hearing those words we can sit back and remember the words or scenes which support her feelings.
During this season Damon did absolutely nothing to make Elena love him at all. He didn’t leave her be after she chose to be with Stefan, and by that he didn’t respect her decision. He blood shared with her in a public bathroom, not telling her what it means, just so he can rub it in his brothers face. After finding out she’s sired to him he did absolutely nothing to end it, knowing this might not be what she wants. He couldn’t handle her or her emotions, so he took the easy way out and took away from her the only thing she was left with - her humanity. Once he realized she’s not obeying his orders anymore, and when she started acting to his dislike, he actually called her a bitch on several occasions. You’re telling me this is the man Elena wants to be with?
Nothing changed since she chose Stefan. All the reasons why she didn’t choose Damon are still there. His inability to respect her, her decisions, choices and opinions. He’s still saying he cares only for her, and no one else. If they ever find themselves in a similar situation, he would shackle her down while everything around them burns.
She’s actually aware that she’s making a wrong decision, and she still does it anyway, and we don’t even know why. It’s sad, like watching a person running down the tracks towards a moving train.
You know what, Julie Plec is absolutely right. Elena is no longer a girl that chose Stefan. She’s not even a shadow of that girl. And I miss that girl. Of how proud she was when she fought back for the first time in season one, or when she broke up with Stefan because their relationship was hurting her family, even though he was a victim in it as much as she was. Girl who knew what she wants and whose decisions were supported by actions. And she got turned into a mindless person, standing on the edge of a cliff and jumping off it.
In this episodes scene with Stefan she listed all of the reasons why she should be with him. He stood by here, was there for her, helped her, protected her, respected her. Everything she once thought matters, and everything she once valued.
But no, I’m not mad she didn’t choose Stefan. Honestly, I didn’t want her to, nor did I hope she will. I wanted her to choose herself.
And this choice wasn’t about her, it wasn’t about them as a couple either. It was about Damon, about him getting the girl and finally being chosen over someone else. It was about him being a terrible and selfish person but being loved for who he is.
And he didn’t even stop to say, SHE LOVES ME. No, instead he said, I GOT THE GIRL.
I feel sorry for Elena Gilbert, because she’s a character with so much potential trapped into her own skin.
OK, so what I got from The Vampire Diaries is that you can be a complete and utter asshole to everyone, rape and abuse a girl’s best friend, kill her brother, constantly disrespect her choices, take sexual advantage of her while she’s starving, try to harm anyone she’s ever cared about, take away her free will, NEVER apologize for any of these horrible actions, refuse to change - and you are rewarded. Because, in spite of everything that’s happened, the girl loves you.
Congratulation, Julie Plec, on sending such a lovely message to your audience. I’m done with this show.

- Delena fandom : Stefan threatened to drive Elena off Wickery Bridge.
- Stelena fandom : Or when Damon tried to kill Bonnie and killed Jeremy?
- Delena fandom : Stefan threatened to drive Elena off Wickery Bridge.

- Stelena fandom : What about those times when Stefan saved Damon's life and after that Damon went and kissed Stefan's girlfriend?
- Delena fandom : But Stefan threatened to drive Elena off Wickery Bridge !!
- okay then...
LOL I want Silas to cockblock Dullena every chance he gets.
I want him to walk around with his shirt off just to make Elena uncomfortable.
I want him to say things like “Thanks for breaking my heart for the millionth time after everything I have done for you two fucktards.”
I just basically want him to do everything Stefan should have done like punch Damon in the face (repeatedly) and call them out on their bullshit.
And no one can do shit about it or hate on Stefan for it considering it’s not even Stefan. So yeah.
