I have compiled a short list of the songs that are always playing in elevators, grocery stores, on the radio or for hold music (and yes I know every word of them):

Caribbean Queen (love on the run) - Billy Ocean

Kyrie - I don’t even know if I spelled it right or who the fuck sings it

Up Where We Belong - Warren/Cocker (“where eagles fly, on a mountain high” is just one of the lyrical gems festooned throughout this little confection)

Unwritten - I have no idea, sounds like an ugly girl song. It is SO ANNOYING.

Conga - Miami Sound Machine (could this song be any more annoying. Also makes me want to grab my wallet.)

We Built this City - Starship Jefferson?

We Didn’t Star the Fire - Joel (he wrote this sober, I hope)

Baby it’s Cold Outside - Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey (will make you want to die. Thank God it is just at Christmas)

Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion (sorry, I just puked)

I Gotta Feelin’ - Black Eyed Peas (sorry I can only hear a song 10,000 times before I can be sure I hated it the first time).
