Registrati“He thought her beautiful, believed her impeccably wise; dreamed of her, wrote poems to her, which, ignoring the subject, she corrected in red ink.” ”
—Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (published May 14, 1925)
Today’s a good day to correct with red ink or buy flowers yourself… or re-visit an old classic like Mrs. Dalloway. Or if you’d like to learn more about the inimitable author, visit the Library’s Berg Collection, which is a lovely spot to learn a great deal about English and American Literature. In any event, have a perfectly Dalloway day!
It's our anniversary!
9 years ago today, I married the cutest, most smiley groom you’ve ever seen in your life. :)
We got married on May 22nd, 2004. At 2pm.
I don’t remember even being nervous that day! I did my own makeup at home and Mom did my hair, then I drove myself to the church where my family was finishing decorating. I excitedly checked out my cake, took some pictures, greeted the ladies in the kitchen and my photographers, then retreated to the nursery area to hide from Jeremy. *haha* It was such a relaxed atmosphere…my adorable flower girls worked on some little wedding cards for Jeremy and I while friends and family popped in to say hello and take pictures. The stress level was very low - and that’s one of the things I wanted most for our wedding day.
It didn’t really HIT ME until the doors opened to the sanctuary and I started walking down the aisle with my arm wrapped around my Daddy’s…and then the tears started to roll. I was so overwhelmed with emotion! (I still didn’t cry as much as I did at my sister’s wedding. I was a wreck on stage for that! *waaah*) But seeing Jeremy’s smile beaming at me calmed me down.
The rest of the ceremony was a blur…even though it was a LONG ceremony. (We got greedy and had THREE SONGS. Less is more, folks.) When it came time to light our unity candle…we couldn’t get it to light. The wick had been snipped too short. So we were standing there, giggling, trying to hide the fact that it didn’t light from our guests. I don’t know what that silly candle’s problem was. I think we’re a very unified couple. *haha*
I took some quick snaps of some wedding photos this morning, so be prepared for some pic-spam soon. They’re not the greatest quality since I took the lazy route (my scanner is BURIED on my desk), but it’s more of my wedding than you’ve seen in the past!
