I know what I would do, I would look at the person, startled and with a look of incomprehensibility on my face. What I wouldn't do was what was being asked of me because i couldn't understand. What was being said was 'Please help me. My friend has had an accident.' Just imagine if my lack of learning that language, Spanish in this case, contributed to the death of someone because I was not in a position to know they needed help.”
