DIY Monogramed aisle runner

Yes, I am making my own aisle runner. I saw some really cute ones on etsy a couple of months ago, and I thought it would be such a nice touch to our church. (We aren’t having flowers, or much of anything else to keep the feel of the old building)
The problem started when I saw how much they were charging for these things.

$140?? You have lost your mind.
So, I went to Joann Fabric, and I used an AcMoore coupon for 50% off. (a lot of places take competitors coupons and you can print them from home) I bought the Wilson brand Aisle runner for $15.00
Then I spent another $5 on fabric paint, and I designed our monogram on my computer. To enlarge the image you could print it on your home computer and tape each page together…or you could do what I did. Any office supply store makes engineer prints. These are large images (black and white only) and they are super cheap! Mine was 24x36” and cost $2.99.
The last step is to carefully paint your design onto the aisle runner. The fabric is see-through so I just taped the picture on the table and started painting.
Simple, and saved me $117!
