During Blvd of Broken Dreams, Billie leaned over the edge of the stage right in front of me
and I guess he must’ve seen the expression on my face.
He was singing and suddenly his serious face crumpled into this empathetic and upset expression as he looked me straight in the eye.
I got to stare right into the eyes of this guy who’s literally saved my life more times than I can count and has helped me pull through so. much. shit.
and that moment, when he looked at me with his green eyes all lit up from the background lights
I realized that
he’s not just a voice coming out of my speakers
or some face on a poster
he’s a real person
who has a beating heart and feels real feelings.
After that he kept moving and glancing over at the crowd, but not before moving back towards me and locking eyes and smiling the utmost genuine smile.
I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment for as long as I live.
