Pictures that speak a thousand words.

I’m really ticked off that Ed Benes is doing the art for Batgirl. But instead of relating the nasty things my internal monologue is saying about the subject, I’m letting this comparison do the talking at the moment. 

On the left is the cover for issue 5 by Adam Hughes, on the right is the just released cover for issue 13 by Ed Benes. 

Note the defensive posture of a trained martial artist on the left who is making eye contact with her opponent. Notice her proportions and facial expression. Compare with the sexy vulnerability and averted eyes of the apparently oil-dipped figure on the right. 

Perfect examples of how female characters should and should not be drawn.
