Park Slope (Yalls Remix)
ABADABADABADABAD - Park Slope (Yalls Remix)

Last night on Turntable.fm, I watched my boy Yalls premier this remix to ABADABAD himself…and the rest of us in the room. The reaction was crazy. Little avatar heads started swaying back and forth. Half way through I’m pretty sure I saw two avatars hooking up in the corner of the room. So, I offered to post it up, even though I rarely post remixes. Check out more ABADABAD here if you haven’t yet. Also, grab Yalls’ soon to be released tape here.

ABADABADPREMIER: ABADABAD - Indiana
I’ve stated before I’m not one to get into the game of premiering tracks on purpose, however ABADABAD sent me this new cut and I couldn’t resist. From once a dreamy pop-heavy bedroom project morphed into a full on band with a nod to the summery tape relics of yesteryear’s parties Jeremy and crew of found a niche that seems to bring feelings of nostalgia and good vibes.
You can catch ABADABAD at various CMJ parties like Don’t Give a Buzz put on Bigger Brush Media and Gluttony is the New Black [that I seemingly curated?] and see them at 13 Thames St in Brooklyn next Thursday at party put on by Starlight Girls & Bermuda Bonnie.

Abadabad- ” Park Slope (I’m Sorry) “
long walk.
I found this track digging through soundcloud last night, and was immediately taken aback by it’s beauty. A heart-wrenching vocal melody is laid down on a bed of warm surf-guitars and vintage drum machines. It’s undeniable catchiness gripped onto my ears, and I caught myself humming the song’s chorus hours later. Praying for more.

Abadabad“Park Slope (I’m Sorry)” by Abadabad // Makeout Beach (2011)
You’re in for some ear candy with this track. It’s from Abadabad and is featured on the excellent new split, Makeout Beach, with another great band, Stoner Showers. It’s a laid back, late summer indie pop sound with the occasional twinkling synth and catchy-as-all-fuck chorus. It’s a great fucking jam and you can grab it over at Bandcamp.

In honor of my last week in NYC and the show tonight at Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn with Abadabad and Slow Magic, I have a special treat for y’all. Slow Magic gave Boston’s ABADABAD a sparkling, echoey twist on their track “California Birds,” just for the occasion. This one’s a lot of fun, just like the show will be tonight. Be sure to check out the other ABADABAD remixes by Yalls, :papercutz and Keep Shelly in Athens. Oh and if you’re in New York, come to Cameo Gallery tonight!

All The Bros Say
“All the Bros Say” by Abadabad // The Wild EP (Out 9.11.12)
Abadabad is a band that have existed just on the outside of solid recognition for the better part of a year thanks to their excellent work on tracks like “Park Slope (I’m Sorry)” and “Indiana”, but now that seems like it’s about to change with the forthcoming release of their new EP, “The Wild” and the killer lead single, “All the Bros Say”. The single has a laid back groove that feels not unlike Real Estate by way of Vampire Weekend, complete with sunny shimmering guitars and an absolutely irresistible chorus that immediately embeds itself into your head. Without a doubt you’ll be humming this one to yourself for the remainder of the summer. It’s one of those perfect songs for the tail end of summer, when the sun is about to fade out and everything has a fleeting air of nostalgia. Highest recommendation for fans of Givers, Real Estate, and Vampire Weekend.

NEW TRACK: Abadabad - All The Bros Say
You know I’ve got mad love for the music bros especially when they are a talented bunch hailing from my hometown of Boston. Today my favorite Boston bros Abadabad released the first single “All The Bros Say” off their up coming EP The Wild.
When I heard their first single “California Birds” last year I immediately knew these Berkley School of Music grads had something pretty special going on. I even went as far as to put them on my ones to watch for 2012 list.
“All The Bros Say” boasts a 60’s beach-pop melody that vibes perfectly with the August heat. Jeremy’s vocals which are what originally drew me in are unmistakeable and more confident than ever. As a group are really beginning to come in to their own sound that is recognizably Abadabad.
The Wild EP will be out early next year and you can bet I’ll be talking about it right here. If you’re in NYC catch them playing at Conveyor’s homecoming show at Glasslands Gallery. Tickets available here.

ABADABADABADABAD - ALL THE BROS SAY

The blog has severely missed the sweet sounds of Boston’s indie-pop outfit ABADABAD and here’s finally some new jams to fill the void. “All The Bros Say” is the new single that will be appearing on their new EP The Wild and is another perfect embodiment of the outfit’s distinctive style. With those catchy, staccato guitar licks and distinctive vocal and harmonic drawls, it does well to exude that ’60s surf-pop sentiment with added eccentricities at the forefront. The EP is fantastic and explores a range of sounds that blend together brilliantly so be sure to check it out when it drops digitally on September 11th.
