Is Calliope and Caliborn occupying one body a symbolic callback to Gamzee's whimsical personality? Is it confirmed that he will ectobiologically create the cherub(s) (possibly using Cal? Remember Cal genes? LE has them which is why he resembles Cal)

I think that Calliope and Caliborn are definitely a strong reference to Gamzee in many ways.

Let’s start off with the more obscure references: typing color hexcodes. Caliborn’s is #323232, Karkat’s is #626262, and Calliope’s is #929292. Basically, Karkat’s typing color lies directly in the middle. If you take Calliope’s quirk (all lowercase, uppercase U) and combine it with Caliborn’s (all uppercase, lowercase u), you get karkat’s. They even emphasize *I* the same way. More importantly though, Caliborn’s blood color is exactly the same as Karkat’s, and Calliope is a lime blooded cherub. Going by the hemospectrum order, since Karkat lies between Nepeta and Sollux, it is speculated that if his blood wasn’t mutant in nature, he would be a limeblood. Of course, it’s important to note that troll lime blood is an entirely different color from Cherub lime blood, but the connection remains valid. And basically, this is just a roundabout way of saying that they bear strong relations to the closest person to Gamzee, his moirail Karkat.

Now that that’s out of the way, we can get to the more direct connections. It’s no secret at this point that Calliope and Caliborn share a body, and that Caliborn is the Lord of Time, Lord English. Their typing quirks are definitely also reminiscent of Gamzee’s alternating caps, both before or after he goes sober, though the connection is a lot clearer afterwards.

First of all, even his phrasing here is a clear reference to two personalities in one body, but not his own. I don’t think Gamzee has a split personality, it’s just a typing quirk. But now that the cherubs have been introduced, it’s very clearly a reference to them. The first line: the lowercase, the smile, the relatively polite phrasing on all lowercase lines, is reminiscent of Calliope. On the uppercase lines, he tends to swear a lot more, and the face is just the opposite on that second line. This all clearly references Caliborn.

And honestly, this all ties into one of Homestuck’s biggest themes, which is duality. Their blood colors are red and green for a reason: it’s the most significant and recurring color combination in the comic, and represents everything from Sburb Alpha/Beta to the Time players being associated with red and the Space players being associated with green. But I’m digressing. 

Lord English, as you can see, fulfills the prophecies of the “mirthful messiahs” of Gamzee’s religion in many ways. In fact, he even unleashed a VAST HONK, and in Gamzee’s quirk no less. And let’s not forget that the puppet which was used to create English’s vessel into the universe

happens to be very important to Gamzee. In fact, he should still have that version of Lil’ Cal on him right now.

As for the rest of your question: No, it is not confirmed that he ectobiologically created the cherub(s). It’s admittedly really eerie that Lord English resembles cal so much, but remember that he wasn’t ectobiologically created. Cal was used to create Doc Scratch, who summoned Lord English into the universe through his body upon his death. After all, Lord English has a past as Caliborn. He wasn’t created then and there.

While it was an interesting theory, it’s about as plausible as the squiddles being used to create the horrorterrors: They’re just a representation of them, the horrorterrors have always existed. It’s implied there are other cherubs, so I think they’re simply an alien race that happen to exist. Of course, Gamzee could have made all of that up and put these lies in their heads. It’s not like they can leave, after all. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about the cherubs being created through ectobiology. It seems interesting, except I can’t imagine who or what would be combined to create them. I don’t like the idea of it being Jade and Karkat though.

The part of the theory you’re referring to which I do fully agree with is that Gamzee somehow raised the cherubs. After all, that does appear to be the trolls’ meteor and lab that they’re living in. And Gamzee has Music Box Time Machines. All of these connections to Gamzee could have been caused by himself, through raising them. He could very well have created the basis for his own religion.

It makes sense that such a crazy motherfucker would raise a creature with a split personality. And after all, who else would love more to name two little alien babies after their favorite puppet?

My favorite theories revolve around the Cherubs.

I won’t get into the theories about their session, as it happens to be pattern-breaking in more ways than I could’ve imagined, but I will say one thing about [S] Caliborn: Enter. I believe, as do many, that the kernelsprite was actually two separate ones, Calliope’s and Caliborn’s, emerging from the Cruxtruder simultaneously. It would explain perfectly the fact that it was flashing in two different colors, and why it collapsed into a black hole. Two kernelsprites simultaneously trying to prototype each other would cause quite the “divide by zero” error. Interestingly, unlike Karkat’s it was not in the Cherubs’ typing colors, but their blood colors. To me this supports the theory more, as Hussie would’ve used the red and green over two shades of gray to make it clearer that it was two kernelsprites in one.

Probably my favorite theory right now is that Calliope’s dream self is a troll. It certainly has its support: For one thing, we haven’t seen her dream self’s face, and while the blood would appear to be Cherub lime as opposed to Troll lime, it was in a darkened room, so we have no real gauge here. More importantly, all the other space players have become what they always wanted to be: Jade became anthromorphic, and Kanaya awoke as a Rainbow Drinker. We don’t know if Porrim wanted to be a Rainbow Drinker, but she is one. Calliope is a space player, and has always dreamed of being a troll.

There is one more theory that, albeit far-fetched, is interesting: Lord English hasn’t achieved god tier, but he will be soon. The part indicating that he hasn’t reached god tier yet is that he possesses the same injuries as Caliborn (they are confirmed to be one and the same). When you reach god tier, your injuries are supposed to heal. As for “he will be soon”: He is the Lord of Time. In [S] Caliborn: Enter, he landed in front of a Time quest bed. He proceeded to unleash a massive attack, which appeared to incinerate him as well as his targets. If he did in fact die and land on his quest bed, that would mean he would rise up to god tier. We haven’t seen him since. The strongest points against this theory are that he’s supposed to be invincible in his current form, and thus couldn’t die, and also it’s highly unlikely he landed on the quest bed before it became incinerated along with everything else in the dream bubble, not to even speak of the question of whether or not a dream bubble quest bed would serve the same purpose. Regardless, the theory is intriguing.
