Post-class night run on an empty stomach...
Usually when I run, I let my mind wander and I think about lots of different things.
NOT TODAY. The only thought that consumed my brain was: “FEED ME FEED ME FEED ME!”
At one point around mile 2, a tiny little yipping dog decided to run out into the road and attack my leg. I jumped over it, but if I hadn’t seen it, I probably would have stepped on it (and then eaten it because I was that hungry!)
3 miles nice an’ easy, felt great (besides the part where my stomach was consuming itself)! Cool, wet air, highlighter yellow tech shirt, calmness of the night… Perfect way to end the day! Also, I really enjoyed that I got back in 30’00” on the nose- makes calculating average pace pretty easy ;)
By far the most important part of this run, however, was getting home and stuffing my face with food.
Dear nutbutter,
I love you. So so much. You taste so good with apples. Also, thank you for appeasing my diva of a stomach.
Love always and forever,
Gillian

Almond butter apples squats for the children! (These aren’t my real squats, I’ll post my vid later!)

Hom nom nomz.
WDW W17D3 - 3 miles and I was not even close to running out of gas!
Hey tumblrs - tonight was a nice, easy 3 miles. We started out at the usual pace and picked it up for that last mile. Did it in around 11 min/mile which felt so great to go regular people speed for just a little bit! And better yet its nice to finish up 3 miles and feel like you could just keep going. Shows you just how far you have really come throughout this process.

The last loop around the track we were kind of racing one another and near the end I cornered Jen behind one of those walker people and took it home for the win. Thanks for the competitive inspiration on that one KC!
All in all it felt so good to be able to only run 3 miles. It changes everything because you can go a little faster as you know you dont have to maintain for miles and miles. Plus I am just really enjoying using that indoor track. It feels great on my feet/joints there is plenty of people working out all around that allows you to people watch along the way - just a nice change of pace.
I have been keeping my eye on the weather and the Marathon Weekend is currently forecast at 81 in Orlando. YIKES that worries me. Luckily much of this is run early in the morning but I wont be finishing until around 12 or 1 sometime so that would put those last miles at the peak of the sunshine and heat for the day. Fingers crossed that I can stay properly hydrated and dig deep to push through the heat!
I know this post was a bit drawn out - and speaking of things that are drawn out I was messing around with a sketch app and a new stylus I picked up - and I worked on a little self portrait! (NOTE - noses may appear larger in this drawing)

Running!! :)
Just got back from my 3 mile run! I finished in the middle of everyone and in like 25 mins- as an estimate
I am not exagerating when I say I got a cramp less than a minute into the run. I’m not sure why, its never happened to me before. It really sucked! But I pushed through it and did not stop ONCE! I am EXTREMELY proud of myself!!!!
W.O.T.D
SO even though my foot has been hurting, I pushed through it and was able to run 3 miles today! & I felt great after. Seems like im starting to be able to run longer distances at a time which makes me happy! :) also worked on some abs and arms..which I need to start doing more of! Annnnd I bought groceries yesterday..so no more excuses of eating out or unhealthy. I’m ready to take control of my eating and whoop my ass back into shape. BRiNG iT! :))
Well, I did it...
I ran my first 5k!
I didn’t really, I just completed one on the treadmill. Usually, I give myself 40 minutes and that’s it. I want to complete one in LESS than 40 minutes, this past Thursday I did 2.85 miles in 40 minutes
Roy was with me, and he is a much more accomplished runner than I am. He was rather easily able to finish the 5k in less than 40 minutes, BUT having him next to me made me run just a little further than my usual 2 minutes running 3 minutes walking fast. I even ran a little faster than my usual 5.2 miles per hour.
I was able to finish the 5k (3.1 miles) in about 42.45 minutes. Very proud of myself! It isn’t fast, but it’s a start!
Got my run in!!
Run number two of my marathon training.
I felt much better today running than I did on Sunday. I still felt tight-chested, but my pace was 8:47 without really trying, whereas my pace on Sunday was 9:58 and I was trying hard. So that’s good!! A little after mile 2 I was trying to get some extra distance in (I live on top of essentially a very large hill and unless I leave it, there’s not a whole lot of space to cover) so I started running up and down a large, grassy hill. It was pretty fun! I was so excited to see the elevation on my garmin stats, but it looked like nothing!

I was pretty disappointed. But it was a fairly significant hill in person and I’m sticking to it.
At about mile 2.5 I ran past a bus stop where a guy was sitting. This was the interaction:
Him: Where’s your music??
Me: I don’t need any!
Him: You so motivated! You so motivated!
Him: SEXY! SEXY!
Me: *runs away*
I was like, “Seriously? Can’t you just leave it at motivated???” That was a compliment I actually liked. Then he made it all weird. Le sigh.
Day two and miles 4-6 completed. It was sunny, beautiful, warm, felt pretty good and I felt happy.
Oh, and my splits for funsies:
