so worse comes to worse I’ll be trying to take 19D instead of 31B if I can’t get that I really don’t know what the fuck im going to do. I’m not trying to go 11X just because I don’t feel like it. If I can’t get the combat jobs I want. I might have to consider Something in the mechanics field. 91B possibly but that’s last resort shit. If it gets even worse and I can’t have anything I want and have to pick the retarded shit I’ll try to sign for 2 years and then reclass and reenlist or get out and try to start the process of becoming a municipal police officer.
I just want to sign my contract next week get my ship date and start the count down. I’ve waited long enough.
19D - Cavalry Scout
The Cavalry Scout is the commander’s eyes and ears on the battlefield. When information about the enemy is needed, they call on the Scouts. They are responsible for reconnaissance and you will learn about various weapons to include explosives and mines. Cavalry Scouts engage the enemy with anti-armor weapons and scout vehicles in the field, track and report enemy movement and activities, and will direct the employment of various weapon systems onto the enemy.
Some of your duties as a Cavalry Scout may include:
- Secure and prepare ammunition on scout vehicles
- Load, clear and fire individual and crew-served weapons
- Perform navigation during combat
- Serve as member of observation and listening posts
- Gather and report information on terrain, weather and enemy disposition and equipment
- Collect data to classify routes, tunnels and bridges
- Employ principles of concealment and camouflage
19D (Scouts) vs 11B (Infantrymen), and other issues...
Ok, to any douche that says that 19Ds are like a watered down version of infantrymen and do about 60% of what an infantrymen does, piss off. I’m in a RSTA Squadron in the 82nd Airborne. We do everything the normal infantrymen does AND THEN SOME. Especially in the 82nd. And you think you guys PT harder than us? I’ve done some pretty fucking intense shit. I’m not saying that us Scouts are WAY BETTER than infantry. What I’m saying is actually do some fucking research before you scrutinize what we do. And yes, I’ve been deployed. So get your dick out of your own ass and shut the hell up. Scouts, Infantry… Who the fuck cares? We both deal with the suck equally. I normally don’t get so pissed off about shit like this but a few posts just set me off. Besides, even if infantrymen did do more work than us Scouts, you all are just being fucking pussies crying and complaining about how much more you have to do than us. Oh boo fucking hoo. Shut the fuck up and do your fucking job instead of playing with your dick all day.
And same goes for you fucking Scouts who think you’re so fucking hardcore fresh out of basic. “Oh yeah I’m a SCOUT! AAAAAH!” And there you go strutting around telling everyone in the world “I’m a SCOUT!” Don’t get me wrong, I fucking love being a Scout, but you don’t see me running around telling everyone what I do and expect them to worship me because I think I’m some high speed special forces dude. Fuck yeah I rock the god damn spurs every Friday, I’m proud of those things. Fuck yeah I’m gonna buy a stetson, because I’m fucking Cav and god damn proud of it.
Another thing that really grinds my gears are these military service members who whine and complain about how under appreciated they are and how some people should worship them because they’re part of the minute amount of US civilians who enlisted in the military to protect America. “oh I put my life on the line everyday, worship me, call me god, you better pay for my lunch because I’m in the military!” Seriously, what the fuck? When I enlisted in the Army, I enlisted knowing damn well that the military ain’t so keen to a lot of folks in the country. Fuck yeah I knew people would hate me for it. Do I care? Fuck no. If I were to go back to when I was going to enlist and they told me that they were going to cut my pay in half, would I still have enlisted? Fuck yes. To me, it’s not about the god damn money, the “glory”, or “fame”. Sure it feels good to be appreciated and to get some good benefits under my belt, but those things aren’t my motivation. I enlisted knowing damn well I could get shipped off to where ever and I could end up dying in some hot garbage dicked up country. I do what I do because it must be done. Someone has to do this job, someone has to protect this beautiful country. If not me, then who? So shut the fuck up and be the professional you are, the professional you signed up to be. I can proudly say that I am a fucking Airborne Cavalry Scout in the United States Army, and I serve my country with pride.

Starting OSUT in a few days
Well i start OSUT in a few days. Going to Fort Benning its in South GA. Training to become a Cav. Scout. I’m ready for whatever is thrown at me. I will make sure to have a lot of pictures when i get back to show everyone. The training is 18 weeks. So check back in 18-19 weeks and i will have a whole lot of information and new pictures. By the way, this is not me in the pic.

I’m so fucking excited, even though it’s so damn far away! HOLY SHIT! I was supposed to go see my recruiter today but I guess he’s helping someone move. BUT STILL. A FEW MONTHS UNTIL I’M ENLISTED UNDER 19D! FIAJPITR8989py*@(p*&H39. Don’t even get me started on how I’ll look after! Just thinking about it gives me more confidence. Beach, is all I can think of after OSUT. I CAN’T wait to gooooooo.. I know I’ll miss home, family and friends for sure, but this is the best for me.
