10km Obstacle course race
mhsurvival.co.ukI’ll be in wave 8 of this tomorrow. Bring it on :)
I have the bestest, most supportive parents in the entire world!!
I got home from my run tonight (surprisingly didn’t collapse as soon as I walked in the door) and threw my hands up in the air (saying AYO, gotta let go… or not…) 10 FUCKING KILOMETERS!! They asked me how it went and all that and then gave me a present!!!

Yep they bought me one of those fancy sweat wicking tops for running 10km!
They are the bestest things in the entire world!
And for anyone who cares 1:28:38 - It’s not the fastest 10k ever and to be honest I probably could have gone faster, but I didn’t realize I could at the time! (I wanted to reserve my energy because IT WAS 10 FRIGGING KM) I’m just super proud of myself! I only stopped for like 30 seconds at the 5k mark to check the time! (because I don’t have a watch!)
I’m just super happy right now!
and tired! So I’m going to spend the rest of my evening in bed with a cup of tea while I catch up on what you lovely people have been doing!!
Trying to explain how hard tonight's 10k was.
As most of you will know, I was in Morocco on a work jolly this weekend.
Some of you may have seen Rob’s video, which gives an idea of how much we had been drinking, something I did a lot of over the weekend.
A few of you may have seen the video I drunkenly recorded of me walking naked through a hotel corridor (decency was kept intact) before I sobered up the next day and deleted upon suffering a bout of The Fear.* (Definition No. 1)

Yes, it’s shambolic, hence I deleted it.
Anyway, in that video you may have seen me smoking, something I did a lot over the weekend.
Finally, even fewer of you will have seen my status update on Facebook upon returning from the trip.

This kind of indicates the state of 90% of trip attendees’ stomachs due to drunkenly disregarding the need to avoid the water in Morocco, so, yes, this was something I did a lot of after this weekend.
Anyway, my body wanted to indicate to me just how bad drinking and smoking really are, so my legs felt like lead, my lungs burnt, my head spun, but I managed a body-cleansing 10km run in 47:02.
Not the best, time in the world, but considering what I put myself through this weekend, it wasn’t bad.
And on the upside, I didn’t shit myself.
Silver linings and all that.
Just registered for my first 10K!
So… I just registered to do the Melbourne Marathon - The Coffee Club 10km run!
My housemate’s boyfriend is doing it and I said that I would join him, and true to my word I registered just then.
So pumped! So now that is two races in October - 10km on the 14th and then The Stampede on the 27th.
I won’t skip out on these like I did with Tough Mudder I promise!
Tomorrow if I manage to get through Bikram Yoga alive I’ll go for a run! So excited, exercise is exciting woooo!
My next race - Men'S Health Survival of the Fittest - 10km obstacle course. Battersea Power Stn, London. 12th Nov 2011
mhsurvival.co.ukCourse map - check out the obstacles. Really not looking fwd to the mud & getting soaked. What have I signed up for :(
