Okay at first I was like 'no don't post alllll that it might offend people'
but then i was like, ‘what the fuck this is my blog and if people are that offended there is an unfollow button right over there’ but anyway.
SPOILERS BY THE WAY
slight but still, just warning you
Gwen in 401 and 402. People are talking about how great it is that they’re finally making her three dimensional, and I completely agree that they have given her a flaw (pride when she talks to Agravaine) but at the same time, literally almost everything she does or says is still connected to Arthur somehow. Only caring for Uther because he’s Arthur’s father, not because she’s forgiven Uther for all the pain he’s put her through out of her strength as a person. The favor she asked of Lancelot. That she thinks Lancelot walked through the veil because of the promise he made, not because of what he heard the great dragon say about Merlin’s incredible destiny, not because of his conversation with Merlin. Just.
It’s just really annoying me. I like Gwen, I do, but the writers are fucking infuriating me because they’re making her relationship with Arthur so forced and cliched, and her whole role in the show is still, for the most part, centered around her feelings for Arthur.
And I’m sorry but do you honestly think Arthur’s last request would be for Merlin to watch over Gwen and make sure she finds happiness? Seriously? So he wouldn’t tell Merlin to take care himself, wouldn’t say something like ‘it’s been an honor’ or ‘we could’ve been good friends’ or something along those lines? Arthur’s only concern is leaving Gwen behind? He had no relationship with no one else on the show, not even the central character of it? Oh, well, thanks for clarifying all that for me.
I’m sorry but Arwen and the direction they’re taking Gwen is really, really frustrating. Because even though she’s a bit more involved and they’re developing her a little more, her plot is still basically ArthurArthurArthur.
I know there’s a lot of problematic stuff in breakfast at tiffany’s (the racism for one) BUT I feel like as long as people recognize the problematic stuff in things they like I don’t really feel like there’s anything wrong w/ girls and women liking the film. I feel like most people probably get annoyed w/ the film mostly because it a clique and it’s overrated in some aspects. But I like the film for nostalgic purposes and it’s a good film. And I don’t see the big deal with girls having a poster of breakfast at tiffany’s (heck I even have one) because honestly there’s not that many famous films based around women (well there are such films but most of them aren’t recognized because you know men are so obsessed w/ films like The Godfather and Citizen Kane that female driven films usually get unnoticed). But I’m a fan of flawed female characters, which Holly Golightly is, and the movie was made in the 60’s, so it bound to have problematic messages in the film.

[[ You know… it’s always around this time of the night (well, night over here at least) that a small group of people are on. Like those in Oceania and small select few from Europe etc.
I think during these slow hours we should hold crazy events/parties so that when the regular folks log on and scroll back on their dash they’ll be extremely jealous (and confused) of all the exciting fun we had. ]]
