So I've decided..

Okay, I guess for my tumblr I’ll be sticking with the fatzpoblador for a little while till I think of something unique and cool.

Eloise, thanks for the suggestion. yeah, i might change my twitter name to fatz96. it’s also shorter when I log in. haha

John Joe, how are you man? You weren’t at Dubplate last night!

Pat, okay for this site, I’m sticking with my name.  After all, my tumblr is very personal.  I saw you blogged about another tumblr for Negros? Go for it! WE LOVE NEGROS!  I miss Bacolod :(

I also realized you can’t comment on your own post? OR maybe i’m just ignorant.  Can someone tell me. haha That’s why I had to create another post since I couldn’t “reply” to your “replies” …

Thanks guys :)

Community (2010)

A smarmy lawyer whose education is deemed void by the bar is forced to attend a local community college with an extremely eclectic staff and student body.

Marathon’d season 2! The best way to celebrate the eve of my birthday. Fun and good vibes.

Not gonna go deep into tv shows this year, gonna focus the blog on movies. TV shows i don’t watch consistently…

Fun, fun, fun! Damn you Chang!

Synecdoche, New York (2008)

A theater director struggles with his work, and the women in his life, as he attempts to create a life-size replica of New York inside a warehouse as part of his new play.

Life is a stage and we are the stars! A dramatic entrance (directorial debut) by Charlie Kaufman. The genius behind the mind melting films Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Adaptation. (2002) and Being John Malkovich (1999).

A pile driving performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman, undoubtedly one of modern cinemas greatest. He effectively “moved me” and was supported by equally great performances by the ladies in his life: Catherine Keener, Dianne Wiest, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Michelle Williams

An awesome tale about “life imitating art imitating life”. It is not a conventional film (you may or may not like this), 2 hours… wow. Epic. Visually stunning and a modern masterpiece. A poetic revelation grasping some of life’s universal truths.

*Thanks to ALL the followers who suggested i watch this. You guys were right, this was awesome!

London (2005)

London is a drug laden adventure that centers on a party in a New York loft where a young man is trying to win back his ex-girlfriend.

Given to me by David of Vice Tattoo, he said i might enjoy it. Hellz yeah i did!

Love & Drugs! what an awesome combination, for disaster. More of a high-end drug flick, rather than the usual slum, dingy and sketchy side. And what a gorgeous cast!

The new “the Bod” Jessica Biel shows some skin and gets her sex on. “He’s gonna be big” Chris Evans (who does a great job) is her drugged-up/pathetic “Ex” on a mission to win her back. I would definitely take drugs with Jason Statham! with HAIR!

As i said drugs and ladies: Big things come in small packages, Isla Fisher, Aussies it up and looks cute as ever. And “who is this chick?” Kelli Garner bursts in with her “you can hold a pint with those!” hooters. If that ain’t enough for ya, this movie has got legs too care of the slender Joy Bryant.

"Dude, on the poster (*sniffs) the word London’s written with cocaine! I’d take that as a positive sign."

Not bad for the directorial/writing debut of Hunter Richards. He captured something here, ain’t a big thing… it’s something.

The relationship can be easily sympathized by audiences, even if you haven’t gone though “the shit” (major break-up). I loved the drug parts!

It’s a “pretty film”, where people can actually act.

Coke + Bathroom = church.

Lure: Teen Fight Club (2010)

An undercover female cop enters Belmont High as a transfer student, after several girls in the area go missing. While trying to assimilate in the school, she and her new friends are lured into a place where they must fight for their lives.

What did i get myself into?!? Oh. My. God. - Yeah, it’s that kind of flick.

The story is chopped up every 30 minutes. The 1st 30 is about high school life, Attractive young women go to a party, Then in the next 30 they get kidnapped and placed in cages… And HOLY SHIT! if you thought that wasn’t enough… fucking underground girl-fighting.

Goddamn the acting was really bad, so bad it’s funny and oh so very annoying. Horrible horrible horrible… the epitome of the word cliche. It’s labeled as an “action, crime, drama”, they should add “comedy”.

Do i see it becoming a cult classic? It’s so bad… so bad… i doubt anyone would really pick this up and suggest it to friends. Not if that person was a douche.

And then i decided to do some research on the film. You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me, $3,000,000 (estimated). Bill McAdams Jr., what have you done? was it intentionally done bad? Could’ve used that money for my zombie movie.

Positives: girls dressing in locker room, naked, fighting and… shit.

WARNING: This is a bad movie. I’m fucking serious.

Year One (2009)

After being banished from their tribe, two hunter-gatherers encounter Biblical characters and eventually wind up in the city of Sodom.

Yep, I watched it again. Requested by Mrs. Xombie. The trailer that had me at hello, and the film that sadly didn’t follow through. I thought it was an average comedy. Some good stuff, but average.

Jack Black and Michael Cera are the odd couple who set off for an adventure of the ages. Guided by a simple premise, and a couple of quirky characters. “Let me be your slave!” Olivia Wilde plays the sultry princess.

A couple of distinguished gentlemen of comedy make appearances as well: David Cross, Oliver Platt, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Vinnie Jones, Hank Azaria, Horatio Sanz, Kyle Gass, Bill Hader and Paul Rudd.

It was ok to re-visit, a quick/no-brainer comedy fix. Aka HBO family friendly film.

Get Low (2009)

A movie spun out of equal parts folk tale, fable and real-life legend about the mysterious, 1930s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party… while he was still alive.

A drama teetering on humor and tragedy. The idea of attending the mysterious funeral may be funny at first, it’s the “how we get there” that weighs down and anchors this tale. Not bad for a 1st full length by cinematographer Aaron Schneider. It felt like i was watching a movie produced/filmed in the 90s.

Robert Duvall, Robert Duvall, Robert Duvall… you crazy old man! This is a performance to remember. Bad-Ass gentleman hermit, finds his humanity before the reaper taps him on the shoulder. There is no thrill as great as death, the last ride.

Dramatic comedian extraordinaire Bill Murray is the proprietor of the funeral home in-charge of the funeral party… with no corpse. He brings the smiles to this odd tale of passing away.

The supporting cast, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)’s Lucas Black & veteran Bill Cobbs, complemented both lead actors and the cinematography was up to par, the lighting was good and even the music was great. There was an authenticity about the tone and feel, the mood was set right.

I was expecting this to be a sluggish film, (surprisingly) the pacing was faster than i had expected. Things pick up after an hour… “Why do you want to attend your own funeral?”

Releasing guilt before it kills us, i really liked how simple this was.

Captain America (1990)

Frozen in the ice for decades, Captain America is freed to battle against arch-criminal, The Red Skull.

Craptain America to the rescue! I remember watching this and questioning whether it was really made in the 90s. Like all the other film incarnations of the Capt., this was horrible and cheesy. Go America!

My least favorite comic book character comes to life. “Peaceful weapon” Bah! Stupid shield.

In the 1st few minutes we get action! World War II, the super soldier program/battle between Captain America and the Nazi Red Skull begin. But then Captain America winds up frozen until the 1990s. He has to adjust to modern times… and here we go! crazy chases and horribly executed fight scenes. He ends up with his former girlfriends kid, what the hell. Pedo. And the Red Skull looks normal again?!? Extensive plastic surgery, bwahahahaha! that’s one ugly mother.

And and the president lol “you were that boy?!?” goddamn, how convenient.

The only interesting character would be the evil chick, she sounded like a pron star. And they HAD to put drama…

Holy shit, i remember the piano at the end! what the hell?!?

how was this film? Crappy as crap can get. I enjoyed the re-visit… but never again. Hopefully Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) will redeem the honor and reputation of this comic book legend.

"Gee-Wiz!"
