Loki Laufeyson strutted along the sidewalks of New York City as he headed into the office. The devastatingly handsome Londoner had moved to the States three years ago after landing a job with Asgardian Worldwide, one of the top advertising agencies in the field. After six months in an entry level position, he had been promoted and transferred to their offices in New York. Now, he had his eyes set on becoming Account Supervisor. He was intent on getting it even though he knew the competition was stiff especially since they were bringing in a new associate who was starting this morning. He didn’t know much about her but he knew that meant one more person vying to get their ideas chosen at client meetings. Loki had a very competitive nature but rivalries in the office were already intense enough without adding a new person to the mix.
Loki pulled out his phone from his pocket as he stopped inside Starbucks to get his morning coffee. The ebony haired Brit scrolled through his texts and emails. A bright smile spreading across his features as he noticed the email message from ‘BlackWidow22’. He had discovered his online buddy on a Shakespeare Forum, posting back and forth on the different threads. Then one private message on the board led to more and before he knew it they were emailing each other on completely different topics. They hadn’t exchanged any personal information. He didn’t know her name or where she lived or worked but the anonymity of it all had allowed them to open up on a lot of other things. Her messages had become the highlight of his day.
Loki grabbed his coffee and moved back out onto the sidewalk as he neared his office building his dark emerald eyes still focused on her message when he slammed right into a woman who was rushing from the opposite direction. He watched in dismay as she landed in a puddle along the pavement from the rainstorm the night before.
"I’m so sorry. I feel like such a bloody tit," Loki entreated as he gazed down at the cold blue eyed glare of the redheaded beauty beneath him. He quickly placed his phone back in his pocket as he extended his hand to help her up. It was then that he noticed that his coffee had spilled all down her slacks as well. Thankfully, the beverage was no longer piping hot but a lukewarm at best. "I’m really sorry. You just came out of nowhere… here let me help you up."
