Steve Jobs has been instrumental in shaping the world as we know it…and Apple is a go-to example for branding excellence. What does the resignation of this undisputed genius mean – to Apple, to branders, to the world at large? Perhaps only one with as much foresight as Mr. Jobs can answer that question with any degree of certainty. I am hopeful that he has set up a team that can carry his vision forward, adding in their own creativity and abilities in a way that keeps the Apple brand as pristine as the glowing white icon on my laptop top. Personally, I suggest everyone at the 1 Infinite Loop start wearing bracelets with WWSJD on them!

It is the business of lexicographers to put down the words we use, whether we use them often or sparingly. This includes slang, the verb “to google”, and yes, even “ irregardless ”. The dictionary does not decide what words become language. Our language decides what words go in the dictionary.

Even if you literally mean “figuratively ”.

You can’t connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something –you gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
