MANIFESTO FESTIVAL & FACTOR PRESENT:
"SO MUCH THINGS TO SAY"
1st ANNUAL CONFERENCE

As part of the 11 day Manifesto Festival of Community & Culture:www.themanifesto.ca/festival

Manifesto is more than just a showcase. Coming together, sharing knowledge and having a space for dialogue is a major facet of what we aim to create. We are very happy to be bringing this new component to the festival, a conference which features keynote speaker Dream Hampton, panel discussions focusing on Community and Career in hip hop, and concludes with the Forgiveness Project (aka F-You) where artists will give an intimate account of their trials and tribulations throughout their lives.

Saturday, September 24
AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario)
317 Dundas St. West
Doors open at 12pm for in-person registration and check-in
Time: 1-8:30pm

*One of the panels on Saturday features Lola of iLuvLola.net so feel free to come out and ask questions if you have any from 2.10 - 3.10 pm!

"WHO YOU CALLIN’ A B?! U.N.I.T.Y." - FEMINISM IN HIP HOP
(a discussion continued from the Wombmanifesto)
We discuss the word “feminism” and how it relates to hip hop and the hip hop community. Also we look in to panelists’ perspectives on the word and their experience of being a woman working in the hip hop community.

AS LONG AS IT'S GROOVIN' 11-26-12

The show goes on!! My new showtime is from 9pm-11pm…sorry to all my friends on East Coast…but if you’re a late night studier please still tune in, I appreciate everyone who I can connect with over music. Had a few difficulties with the station tonight, but the love of the music brought me back. I realize that music is one of the main factors keeping me happy…and this is what I need to do to stay sane..so the show goes on..

Also like I said I appreciate a lot of feedback, from artists or music-lovers, so if anyone wants me to play good stuff I’d be ecstatic to do so! Next week I am playing an LA based rapper, Sedale Barkley’s stuff, and Tyne Freeman and Bella Porter…all great friends and all great musicians. I can be reached at npowell1@lion.lmu.edu or messaged on tumblr! Love all ya’ll..

I am only playing for an hour tonight, but here’s the set list.

Sweet Sticky Thing - Ohio Players

If You Want Me To Stay - Sly & The Family Stone

To Zion - Lauryn Hill

Open Your Eyes - Dwele

Brown Sugar - D’Angelo

Free - Ohio Players

Golden Lady - Stevie Wonder

Otherside of the Game - Erykah Badu

Piece of My Love - Guy
