Today’s Daily Reminder. While you may not feel it, you and your voice, and your dreams, and your heart and mind, are IRREPLACEABLE. You are a precious thing. And if you ever forget, we’ll be here to remind you again. #LUMOS2014

Finally got a chance to make our donation to KW Counselling earlier this afternoon!

We were able to donate $200 to KWC from proceeds raised by our Second Annual Marauders’ Art Exhibition, as a part of our LUMOS Campaign.

Students in the ML300 - The Medieval Harry Potter class, and Dr. Renée Ward, along with club members and executives worked tirelessly on this campaign and event, and I couldn’t be more proud! We had so many incredible contributions of art, as well as selfless contributions of time and experiences.

You can find out more about the amazing services offered at KW Counselling HERE.

Remember, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times… If one only remembers to turn on the light.” THE LIGHT STARTS WITH YOU.

My patronus would take the form of a wolf. Wolfs are known to be very family orientated, tenacious, intelligent, and loyalty, but are also vague, unsure, and shy. Sometimes they like to be alone, but they always care deeply about their family. I think these attributes describe me very well.
A happy memory that I would use to cast my patronus would be the joint sleepover birthday parties that I had with my twin sister when we were younger. We would have 10-15 girls all over at our house and cover the floor with mattresses and sleeping bags. We’d play games and eat junk food and always watch a Disney movie together. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the time I got to share with my sister and our friends. I was surrounded by people I love, which always puts a smile on my face.

My patronus is an owl. Owls are symbolic of intuition which is something I’ve learned to trust. In Harry Potter, owls are used as messengers and I find this symbolic of my own pursuit in life by being in film production: I want to spend my life delivering important messages.

In casting my patronus, I would use memories of family evenings playing Rummikub. Those are the times when I feel safest and happiest.

My Patronus would be a big horse. I have chosen a horse to be my patronus because I used to spend a lot of time with my friends horses and I find horses to be positive, relaxing and caring animals. For me, it never mattered what was going on in my life, no matter how stressed I was, spending time with the horses would just brighten up my day. If I needed to conjure my patronus I would remember the good times I had with my family and friends. When it comes to mental health I believe it is important to remember the things that make you feel good and that there are people out there who care about you, and horses for me, in many ways, can represent just that in a person’s life.

My Patronus would be an otter! They are engaging creatures overflowing with positive energy. Otters feel entitled to the good things in life and a general sense of well being.

In casting my patronus, I would use memories of family camping and road trips. Feeling happy with the people who matter most is very important.

My patronus would be a cat. I really like cats and they are wonderful animals. They’re cuddly and are very curious even if curiosity can sometimes get them into trouble! They also know it is good to spend some time alone as they can solitary yet when they want to play or cuddle they do with passion.

The memories that I would imagine would be spending time at home on the east coast, especially at our summerhouse, which is in a wonderful village filled with family and family friends with the beautiful scenery that are the Cape Breton Highlands and the Gulf of St. Lawrence and where beaches are too!
