Wine Down Wednesday
August 27, 2014
It hasn’t even been a week and I already feel like we have been back to school for months!
Yep. It’s #winedownwednesday, I’m tired and it’s after 9pm. Oh well, what’s a girl gonna do? Drink wine, of course!
Actually, while all of the above is true, my #attitude is different tonight. I am more positive and upbeat on a #Wednesday than I have been in months! (giving credit to #colorado where credit is due!)
This #positive mental attitude MAY have something to do with my #wine of choice for this evening….
When my #triplets were younger, everyone kept telling me I needed to write a book. Couldn’t figure out why people kept telling me that. All I could see were hundreds of diapers a week, crying babies, massive loads of laundry and no light at the end of the tunnel. But they kept telling me I had a story to tell.
I couldn’t see it. Didn’t want to tell it. But, I am a sucker for a good story. And as it turns out, I DO have a lot to say…:)
Wine is like that. Every bottle has a story to tell and a lot to say. And this one - had the story on the front of the bottle..
Tonight’s Taste: Langmeil Barossa Blacksmith 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon
The story, as it is told on the bottle, begins in 1842 with an immigrant from Prussia. He builds a blacksmith shop - which is part of the winery today - and is believed to be the “World’s Oldest Surviving Shiraz Vineyard.”
While I am not drinking #shiraz, the bottle had me at “in 1842..”
One can taste the history, the land and even a little of the “blacksmith” in this Australian #cabernetsauvignon. While it is not my typical “spoil me because its Wine Down Wednesday Wine” - it has character, depth and structure.
And I am a sucker for a good story….
