When I first arrived in Brooklyn off the Dekalb St. stop in Fort Greene, I said to myself, “Yup. I’m definitely a Manhattan girl.” The wide fluorescent streets advertising choice club gear reminded me of Union City. But after a proper tour I can certainly see the charm.
First stop : The Annex coffee shop which was literally a portal into a BK hipster skit. Two coffees and about a dozen eye rolls later and we were off to the Brooklyn Flea. The Brooklyn Flea antique and vintage marketplace, is held inside the old landmarked Williamsburgh Savings Bank, at Skylight One Hanson, which is such an incredible space. Once I stopped looking up and combing through vendors, a task I normally find daunting in vintage, I actually won !
After scoring the most amazing chunky ring, which is almost identical to the Dominic Jones I’ve been stalking on NET-A-PORTER and a one-of-a-kind silk floral print maxi, I was rewarded with a delicious burger at the new BK Shake Shack.
Well played, Brooklyn.
