Tired of the usual Belgo’s or All-Bar-One which I haven’t visited in ages, Kingsway became the natural street to explore for lunch given its proximity to campus. Bill’s, with its cute tables and sunflowers always struck me but for some reason I never had the chance to walk through its doors, until my friend and I decided it was about time.
We managed to get there at 11.54 meaning that we were just in time to savour their breakfast (served every day until noon, when you’ll have to pick from their lunch menu). To my joy (hence the smile in the photo), they served scrambled eggs with salmon on gluten free toast, as opposed to the many brunch-y places I had been to where I had to have my toast removed, unhappily.
As you can tell, my friend ordered poached eggs with spinach on toast, which were equally good (I trust her taste).
Their breakfast definitely seems to be a great hangover cure, but we wouldn’t know for a fact…
Their juice is a wonder. Raspberry, peach and mango - I always go for the large one because a regular isn’t enough (it probably is, but I love it too much!).
Bill’s for breakfast is a must! Their lunch menu is equally filled with great choices, such as the roast line-caught cod with chorizo, butter beans, tomatoes, parsley and lemon.
On our third visit the waitress smiled and remembered seeing us the day before, so I guess we can say that we’ve been there enough times to judge!
There are many Bill’s located around London and the UK, so pick the closest one and enjoy!
