Though we didn’t get hit directly by Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac, the storm did make the first week of classes an interesting one.  Here’s four shots I took from the Visitor Center that shows the CRAZY weather that made getting to class dry an impossible feat.

Good morning from Eppes Hall, home of the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice!

Eppes Hall was constructed in 1918 and was the 5th building added to FSCW’s campus. Intricate stonework on its southern face depicts the Great Seal of Florida, shield bearing amphibians, and a wise owl keeping watch from the 4th floor.

Eppes Hall still wears plaques reading “FSCW No. 5” at its entrances, a #FSU history easter egg for those with sharp eyes. #visitFSU

High school juniors who are considering Florida State University should check out our Junior ‘Nole Notes.  This electronic publication is filled with information, fun facts and suggestions that will help you during the college application process.  There are even tips for a successful visit to campus this summer! Check it out here.

Part-Time Job Fair

We were there!! Were you? If you didn’t get a chance to attend the Career Center’s Annual Part-time Job Fair today, and you want to find out how to become a University Ambassador…here’s what you need to know:

All applicant’s must attend ONE of our two Information Sessions.  They will be held on October 3rd at 4pm and October 18th at 6:30pm in the Visitor Center Auditorium (University Center B 1401).

Seniors are stressed.  They are frantic as they try to finish up the last week of their undergraduate education, knowing that the end is near.  But they are also excited! There’s an overwhelming positive energy in the air as they pick up their caps & gowns and begin to pose in all the traditional spots on campus.  These images along with all of the memories they’ve made over the past 4 years will remain in their hearts and minds for years to come.

It is this energy that fills the rest of us with anticipation not only for the futures of these seniors, but also the incoming freshmen class who will soon fill their shoes on campus.

Summer Tours

It’s been a busy summer!  At the Visitor Center we offer campus tours Monday through Friday at 10am, 12pm & 3pm.  Last Friday (July 20th) we sent out 5 separate tours at each tour time for a total of about 450 visitors.  This pic was taken in the Chemistry Building, where our Ambassadors stop to catch some A/C and to discuss our science related majors.
