LN, 26, have had a prosthetic left eye, due to cancer, since 15. I had a tumor in my left eye from 11-15… I was treated at OHSU, but grew up in Idaho. I have chronic fatigue and PTSD… Only recently have I had doctors or social workers agree with these diagnosis’. Today, ironically enough, I am a participating artist at Art Access’s exhibit, “Visions.” To reclaim my identity as a cancer survivor who didn’t just forget about what happened to me for years, but rather, I live daily with a prosthetic and with the memories and knowledge of my experience. It has changed me and rather than hiding it, I’ll own it! #NOSHAMEDAY. I currently live and work in the downtown Salt Lake City area. #noshame !!
