A chocolate shake that is actually good for you! Dairy-free and delicious….RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup milk (I used coconut milk)

1 very ripe banana

1 Tbsp. cocoa powder (use raw cacao powder if you can find it)

1 Tbsp. nut butter (almond butter, peanut butter, etc)

1 tsp. honey (optional - use if banana not very ripe)

1.5 cups ice (add less ice for smoother shake)

Pina Colada! {vegan, non-alcoholic}

Two-three bananas + 1 can of coconut milk + 1 can of crushed pineapple

Ice for coldness. I used frozen bananaas, and two because I didn’t want it too thick.

I can’t wait to make it again! 

Cinnamon-Date Shake

Warning: this tastes like it’s bad for you.

Here at the Griffo house, we love our breakfast in yummy liquid form. Smoothies and shakes are my husband Mark’s breakfast request nearly every morning. So I’m always trying to find or come up with  new recipes. This one was definitely a huge hit.

This shake is incredible. It’s naturally sweet with frozen banana and dates, and so creamy you’ll be convinced you put ice cream in it… But it’s completely vegan and good for you! 

This delicious shake can become a meal in itself by adding 1/2 cup rolled oats. Dessert for breakfast anyone?

Makes 3 small shakes, or 2 large

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (optional, shake not pictured this way)
  • 1 frozen banana, broken up
  • 1 frozen apple
  • 4 large dates, pitted
  • 4 dried apricots (blenheim variety)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cacao nibs
  • ice cubes (about 1/2 cup)
