Bomi Citizens Condemned Superintendent’s Decisions

By: Theophilus S. Kiah, I

 Superintendent Brown

January 26, 2012

Some concern Citizens of Bomi County had condemned the decision of their superintendent Hon. Samuel Browne to have included the contravener Mr. Abraham B. Combay of the city cooperation on the five man committee to conduct the affairs of Tubmanburg.

The citizens at the same time said the constituting of the five (5) men committee by the superintendent to stir the affairs of the city cooperation, while the act is being perused by him was in the right direction, but said the inclusion of Mr. Combay who is a part of the conflict, hangs a dark cloud over the Wisdom of the Superintendent.

The concern citizens wonder why a well learned superintendent like Mr. Browne would choose to ignore the act that created the city of Tubmanburg, which is the governing tool that runs the city. They also frown at the illing acting city mayor madam Rebecca Boakai, for her departure from the office without informing her office staff.

On the other hand the self-proclamation of Mr. Abraham B. Combay as acting city mayor, the concern citizens said it’s warranted to suspension or dismissal.

Mr. Abraham Combay on Monday, January 23, 2012 declared himself as the acting city mayor of Tubmanburg, according to him as virtue of the fact he is the administrative assistant, he has the all right to exceed to the post since the Mayoress left without informing them.

According to the citizens the act that created the city of Tubmanburg did not give the superintendent the authority to appoint or constitute any-body that will run the affairs of the city, said he did so to calm the situation within the cooperation.

The citizens are however calling on the superintendent Hon. Samuel Browne to re-consider his decision to withdraw Mr. Combay from that committee in order to prove his neutrality.

At the same time the chairman of the Christian community for Bomi County is calling on the citizens of Bomi to use the media wisely.

Rev. Edwin Dehnmoe says while it is true that the media promotes and disseminate information of the peace and development, it also has the ability of creating devastation in terms of it usage.

Rev. Dehnmoe says citizens should know how to put through their grievances on radio stations in Bomi and Liberia at large. The chairman of the Bomi Christian community note, presentation of wrong information, ex-change of words on the radio by citizens has the propensity of undermining the peace we now enjoy and would carry the county beyond the present status in term of unity and development.

The Revenge call came in a wake of recent war of words emulating from some workers of the Tubmanburg city cooperation on who become the next city mayor in the absent of Madame Rebecca Boakai

The head of the Christian community boss says, the best way to resolve our problem as citizens of Bomi is through negotiation, dialogue and reconciliation.
