Pairing: Skylox (SkyDoesMinecraftxDeadlox)
Setting: AU where Minecraft Youtubers are attending the same school. They’re all around 14-17.
‘’This is too haaaard.’’
Deadlox sighed as his butter-loving friend Sky collapsed onto the table, pencil clutched in hand. The two were sitting in Adam’s kitchen, working on some maths homework due the next day. A plate of extra buttery cookies were on the table, made by Sky’s mother. They weren’t helping her son though.
Ty scribbled down the answer to a question and put his pencil down.
‘’Which one are you stuck on?’’ he asked, a slightly bored note in his voice. Sky flailed.
Deadlox raised an eyebrow, then started laughing, much to Adam’s dismay. A few minutes passed as the squid-hater tried to protest in a high-pitched voice, while the other just kept on laughing.
‘’Are you serious?’’ he finally choked out, a wild grin on his face as he struggled to sit up. Sky nodded, looking down sadly at his sheet.
‘’I’m no good at addition.’’ he muttered, biting his lip.
‘’We’ve been doing this for what, 2 hours, and you’ve only managed to do 5 questions?’’ Ty was about to collapse into laughter again, so Sky punched him over the table. ‘’Ow!’’
This punch developed into a full-on fist fight, then into a larger one when Sky pushed Deadlox out of his chair and jumped on top of him. They rolled together into the living room, where Jason was sat, watching something on the TV. He drew his knees up to his chest in slight surprise and continued watching the show.
The ball of flying punches and kicks continued around the back of the sofa, with Jason wincing at every swear word and violent sound that happened behind him. It finally ended when a menacing shout from Sky’s dad upstairs echoed down the stairs.
‘’Sorry, Jason.’’ muttered Sky, shooting Deadlox a mean stare. He just grinned and twirled into the kitchen again.
Jason nodded, almost fearfully, still clutching his knees.
Back in the tiled room, Ty was sitting on the table, waiting for Sky to return. He smiled as Sky slumped into his chair, readying himself for extreme mathematical problems.
‘’Are you sure you don’t just want the answers?’’
A sheet was waved teasingly in front of Sky’s face, which was immediately grabbed and hungrily devoured.
No, I meant that in a more metaphorical sense.
‘’You finished it all?’’ shouted Sky in disbelief as he finished reading. The other nodded smugly.
‘’There’s about 150 answers to questions there, and I’m pretty sure they’re all correct.’’
Adam looked up at Ty, now framed by the sunset shining in through the window. He was slightly astounded by his ability. How come he didn’t know Deadlox was so good at maths?
Sky began to copy the answers onto his sheet, stopping only when he was finished. Ty was staring out the window, kicking his legs against the table as he waited for his friend.
Sky got up to look outside into the back yard. ‘’Do you want to go hang in the garden?’’
‘’What about Jason?’’
‘’He’ll be fine.’’
They headed outside, and wound up sitting against the wall of the shed, hidden from the house. A comfortable silence fell between them.
Deadlox looked over at Sky. He looked kind of cute, really, captured in the last light of the glimmering sun. A thoughtful expression was pasted on his face, sunglasses crooked. Softly, Ty placed his hand on Adam’s.
‘’Wh-What are you doing?’’ he squeaked, turning to look.
‘’Wanna know how to add?’’ Ty leant over, leaving a seductive whisper in his friend’s ear.
‘’I can show you.’’
