Hello there! I see that you commented on the Navi reference. I was considering putting something like "Yes, I realize Navi wasn't in Twilight Princess" in parentheses, but I figured it wasn't necessary. As one Zelda fan to another, I know what I did. Haha. I mean, I wouldn't be dressing up as the guy if I didn't love the series so much. Although if you think about it, in the Wii version, a fairy was your cursor! Anyways, I wanted the reference to be more of a nod to Oot than anything. ;)

I understand what you were doing, and I suppose it’s the thought that counts in the end.  It’s just that as someone who invested a lot of though into timeline theorizing and such I tend to get a little picky about continuity, mostly because continuity is so essential to chronology.  If you look at what I reblogged almost directly previously you can see some of the context in which I was making such a comment.  Continuity/consistency was simply on my mind at the time, and your picture just sort of became an object of further questioning.

I tried to be as respectful as possible since I knew you were probably aware of the slight issue, hence my concession concerning issues that are willingly overlooked as well as unwillingly.  It’s really not that big of a deal, just something that irks me a bit.

In regards to the Navi cursor, when you consider the Wii version versus the GC version, you realize that the GC version was really the original, and the Wii version was essentially a port.  (The graphics are the same, and Wii Link is right handed while the map of Hyrule that corresponds with left handed Link also fits better with other maps).  When this is considered, the Navi cursor really doesn’t mean much, and feels more like an Easter Egg or throwback for nostalgic purposes, a noninvasive “nod to OoT,” if you will.

Again I get what you were trying to do, it’s just that when I see what is obviously meant to represent TP Link, the illusion is broken with words that only would have been said by OoT Link.  That’s what the purpose ends up being for viewing these types of cosplay pictures, preserving the illusion of authenticity though accuracy and continuity.

Overall, nice cosplay.  Your passion for the series is still easy to see, which really is the point of doing the cosplay in the end.
