Planking? Owling? No, the most popular challenge on social media right now is the Human Flag.
The Human Flag is a feat of strength where the body is parallel to the ground and supported by a vertical bar, of some sort. A straight line is formed using one’s arms and body, which requires enormous upper-body strength.
The move has gone viral on social media platforms – it doesn’t require much equipment, but it makes for some insane poses. Fitness fanatics in countries including the U.S. and the U.K. have posted pictures of themselves “human flagging”.
Among them, one of the most famous is a former British rugby player, 32-year-old Dave Jackson. Jackson taught himself the difficult move in three months and then showed it off across the globe. He can now stay in position for 10 seconds, according to a Daily Mail report this week.
In China, human flagging is not completely unfamiliar. Back in May 2011, a man named Wang Zhonghua stunned the China’s Got Talent show with his strong Human Flag. He’s so far held the Human Flag position for the longest time in the world, reportedly at 1 minute and 5.71 seconds.
But the most sensational Human Flag trending on Chinese social media right now is of Liu Feifei, a post-nineties pole dancer in central China’s Henan Province. Check the photos and take a look.
