EXPRESSION

"Acting is not about being someone different. It’s finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there." - Meryl Streep

ORCHESTRA 2001

PUBLICITY VIDEO

My photograph of The Kimmel Center was featured in the publicity video for Orchestra 2001, whose mission is to “perform and promote the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, premiering new works, providing a major focus for the best new music of our time, while introducing unknown older works, and reaching out to regional and international audiences through recordings and tours”. Check out my featured photograph here.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I captured this photograph after a huge snowstorm in the Arnold Arboretum. It truly was like walking through a winter wonderland! I’m wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and best wishes for a happy healthy new year.

ALL-MENDELSSOHN PROGRAM

Conductor Bramwell Tovey will lead the orchestra Thursday, January 26 through Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang (Hymn of Praise), for soloists, chorus, and orchestra, with sopranos Carolyn Sampson and Camilla Tilling, tenor Mark Padmore, and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

This piece is a beautiful symphony cantata featuring orchestra, chorus and three vocal soloists. Mendelssohn wrote the choral Symphony No. 2 in B-flat major, entitled Lobgesang (Hymn of Praise), to mark the celebrations in Leipzig of the 400th anniversary of the invention of the printing press; the first performance took place on 25 June 1840.

MODERN VS CLASSIC

I absolutely love it when classic architecture merges with contemporary especially when it comes to religious buildings like churches. The juxtaposition of the two fascinate me. This building is one I’ve been by before, but never really stopped to pay attentino. This church is part of the theological school at Boston University and if you walk through the awnings on either side of the church you’re led to views of the Charles River. Absolute perfection.

LAUREL HILL FLORAL DESIGN

It’s so wonderful to see a logo in action! I designed this for Laurel Hill Floral Design just about a year ago and she has certainly come a long way as her new site has just launched!

Laurel Hill Floral Design is  a boutique floral design company based out of owner Laura Chadwell’s home in East Boston, MA. She is a third generation florist who started her training gathering scraps of flowers as they fell from her mother’s arranging table. She specializes in special event floral design, including weddings, showers, and nonprofit events.

I have been lucky enough to work with Laura on numerous occasions including her engagement photos and now with her new business. Have a wedding or an event coming up? You should definitely consider Laurel Hill Floral Design!

BOSTON CHORAL ENSEMBLE

"A CHORAL HOLIDAY"

I’ve been the designer for the Boston based choral group; The Boston Choral Ensemble (BCE) 2012-2013 Season. The Boston Choral Ensemble is a chamber choir that seeks to enrich the choral art through innovative programming, artistic excellence, and creative collaboration. BCE is dedicated to performing a wide range of repertoire with stylistic integrity, promoting new music, and educating its audience and singers.  It’s been a wonderful experience so far working for this extremely talented group.

Their next concert is right around the corner for the holiday season. Join BCE  on Saturday, December 15th at Boston’s Old South Church in Copley Square, to hear pieces including Thompson’s Stopping by woods on a snowy evening, Judith Weir’s My Guardian Angel, and Jan Sandström’s creative re-imagining of Lo, how a Rose e’er blooming

Tickets can be found here. Enjoy!

Thank you to Addwater for featuring me on their website. My site uses one of their layouts and addition of widgets. It’s a wonderful site full of great products and they have a wonderful support program with helpful and quick responses. I highly suggest checking them out!
