The black bracelet once was an Under Armour one I got at work but since I haven’t taken it off since I got it on August 21st, 2011, the rest of the words kinda wore off haha.  BTW the other one says DBWH, I say that in a lot of my posts.  It means Dream Big Work Hard.  It is for the JJ Watt foundation.  He is one of my favorite athletes and being from WI I had to support his cause, also I love the saying DBWH.

This is MY Armour

This past month, I have spent many hours at internet cafes in Turin, Italy to make sure that my tumblr had quality material for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

As the Ultimate Marketing Strategist Intern for Under Armour, I need to make sure everyone on the team is getting things done and working together to provide efficient final products that are innovative.

My competitiveness and ability to motivate others can be seen through my past leadership experiences including being a Marketing Manager for inTURINational marketing, a member of the Residence Hall Association executive board, a senator at my school as well as one of the seven students at the University of Maryland selected to represent our school at an international leadership experience in Scotland for spring break in 2011.

Not only do I know my fair share of marketing, I also have bases in social media, web designing, programing and graphic design. I know what an effective marketing team is capable of doing and will challenge all the other Ultimate Intern team members to strive to be the best.

As a study abroad student, I am willing to take risks and be put into situations that are challenging. I came to Italy not speaking one word of Italian and now that I am 6 weeks in I can already communicate with the people around town especially in business settings.

I’ve never lived in the same place for more than 3 years at a time so being outgoing and approachable is a trait that I have perfected over time. This is very important when working on a team.

There is no better way to describe ultimate than me for your marketing strategist.

This is my armour.

A quote I live by:

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.

The better question is WHY NOT ME?

I have worked at the Pleasant Prairie, WI Under Armour Factory House for over a year now where I was promoted to be a Unit Velocity Specialist

My closet is ridiculous, I have so much UA gear it is unreal.  Should I get this position just for having the most stuff… by no means but what I am trying to get at is I have an immense amount of product knowledge.  Having worked at the store for over a year my product knowledge is unmatched by anyone I have met.  I check the UA website every single day for new products.  Literally name a product and I can almost guarantee I know a good amount about it.

I have a passion for the company.  I plan on being a “lifer” with the company, in other words I would not mind staying with Under Armour for the rest of my life and this internship opportunity could jump start my career and give me a foot in the door.

My work ethic is apparent in my everyday life not only at the job.  I strive every day to get better whether it be mentally, physically, or spiritually every day I strive for greatness.  I work 20+ hours a week and have 20+ hours a week of class and homework.  Not to mention I have gotten back into working out.  I am a former college football player and long story short I tore both of My ACLs in my knees in consecutive years so my player career was over and I had gotten pretty out of shape.  The past 2 months I have lost 33 pounds and get better every day.  In other words I have 20+ hours of work, 20+ hours of class and homework, and 12+ hours in the gym EACH WEEK.  If that itself doesn’t show that I am a hard worker person I don’t know what will.

I pride myself on my work ethic, integrity, honesty, and responsibility.  What you see is what you get.  I hold myself accountable for my own actions; I do not pass the blame onto others.  I really hope I make it to be a finalist and I will do everything within my power to make that happen.  I thank you for the amazing opportunity that is the Under Armour Ultimate Internship and thank you for your consideration.  I AM THE NEXT UNDER ARMOUR ULTIMATE INTERN
