In Memory Of Mae Young

The WWE Hall of Fame is full of tough, strong competitors who forever changed the face of sports-entertainment, but perhaps none more so than Mae Young. She opened many doors and, literally, many states as well as Canada to female wrestling. This legend became the first NWA U.S. Women’s Champion in 1968. And apart from being tough as nails, she competed across eight decades! Young passed away Tuesday night at age 90. She was an inspiration and true pioneer of sports-entertainment, and will be greatly missed. Thank you Mae!

Last night, we lost one of the greatest female professional wrestlers ever. The true Queen of the Canvas, Mae Young. She was a highly influential pioneer and legend who paved the way for so many women in wrestling today. #ThankYouMae #RIP
