How nice to stumble upon an unknown, local single malt while in Finland. Teerenpeli distills since 2002. They offer an 8Y of 40% Sherry and 60% Bourbon maturation and an 10Y full sherry.

I have a dram of their ‘living cask’, a small cask of 10Y old behind the bar (nice idea!), served at 57-ish ABV.
Very Bourbony, candy, grand marnier on the nose evolving towards orange peal on the palate (bit liquorish) bitter, but not too much, cake. Further on, rather rounded mouthfeel, less fruity on the palate, more oak spices. Finish on licorice and bit of pepper. A bit continental, I would say, with lot of wood influence, but altogether a nice surprise!
