Yes, the struggle was real! I accomplished a goal tonight in doing 10,000 pushups in 14 days!! The challenge is actually to do 10,000 pushups in 30 days but I wanted to finish before my first ultra race this weekend and I couldn’t have done it without my cheerleaders here, haha! Two weeks ago I contemplated even trying to do this but when I started I just couldn’t slow down or stop till I finished and seriously surprised myself! Just wanted to share a bit about my diet before and during my first ultra-race last weekend. The month leading up to the race during training I made sure to eat a lot of fruits, veggies, beans, rice, and especially potatoes!! The day of the race I ate fresh fruit and vegan pancakes for breakfast, a baked potato stuffed with a scoop of beans and topped with veggies for lunch, and then a fruit bowl before I headed out to the race. During the race I drank coconut water, regular water, and gatorade and I carried and ate Larabars and ate watermelon at the aid stations, oh and a couple bites of Scott Jurek vegan pancakes. I also did eat one rolaid and one salt tablet but other than that no gels, no coke, no pills, or whatever haha! I felt guilty enough drinking the gatorade๐Ÿ˜ Anyway nutrition was no issue for me which I was a little worried about, I really do feel a whole bowl of watermelon in 30 seconds gave me a huge boost lol! I ended up finishing 26 out of 55 in 9 hours and 18 minutes!
