We’re in our last leg! Are you excited? I’m excited. *vibrates* (Head’s up for Pandamani and redren5.)

Since everyone’s down to colors, I won’t be posting updates until the final collated image sets. <3 I may or may not start sending annoying notes instead.

My art for the fantastic Sunryder and her fic Into the Dark for for the Xmen Reverse Bang challenge round 2

Summary:

There was a certain amount of job satisfaction to be derived from being an Angel of Death. And Erik Lehnsherr truly loved his job.

However, that satisfaction meant nothing when stacked against a young telepath that Erik just couldn’t seem to let go.

Thank you for your post on fandom. it was exactly what I needed to hear. I'm also in academia and when I hear people and scholars talking about fangirls, I feel like a fool, like the joy I get from reading/writing/drawing fanworks makes me deficient. But never before have I had someone point out the misogyny inherent in deriding fanworks, and now anger has replaced by embarrassment, so thank you for that, I needed to have that pointed out to me.

I’m really sorry to hear about your colleagues in academia putting down something that you love…I’ve been really fortunate that my department is really interested in new media and transmedia, and all of my professors have expressed nothing but genuine interest and delight at the discovery of fantexts…but yeah, I think the idea that fandom something bizarre or laughable is more prevalent…which is sad, and disheartening…

And yeah, as I said, that’s a HUGE conversation, but I don’t think it’s too far a stretch to see that anything that women love, be it fandom or One Direction (or the Beatles way back in the 60s), is seen as silly, or hysterical, or “crazy” by a society that largely condemns women for pretty much everything lol

I’m glad my post helped in a little way!! I’m always here if you need to vent or chat about things <33

Title: With Abandon
Pairing(s): Erik/Charles
Summary: The best part about Charles’ favorite bakery isn’t the location, and it isn’t the lovely smell, or even the Earl Grey cupcakes. It’s the Baker.

Erik Lehnsherr is a beautiful specimen of a man, particularly when his fussing over Charles takes the form of pastry.

Such a pity Charles doesn’t know Erik is an assassin.

Here’s our Saturday/Sunday/Monday update for the switcharound meme. Progressing, here is where most people are at. If your name isn’t on the list, it means that the person before you hasn’t finished their part yet.

I didn’t notice that renaming the files on Google Drive also removed their file assignments. When downloading them, just add a “.psd” and it should work out fine. (Unless it’s a sketch, then it might be a “.png” or “.jpg”.) Sorry for the trouble.

Quick post to the Cherik tag and my blog for my XRB fic Shatter, Burn; and thanks to those who deserve it.

Title: Shatter, Burn (Charles/Erik, T)

Art Masterpost: Charles as The Phoenix by Sunryder

Word Count: 21k

Warnings: Some psychological torture, mind manipulation, and captivity

Summary: There is a pulsing, burning force in his head, held back by years of repression and denial, of constructed barriers and walls that push back a power that isn’t quite his. Heat batters his skin and the taste of ashes in his mouth lays heavy on his tongue, but it’s all just as distant to him as the bird rising high in the air, its body made of fire and smoke.

You can do anything, the fire says, sharp in his mind, you could be a god

Thank you to: Austin: I love you. Without your help I never would have finished. Thank you for sticking in there with me. Roz: You were such a life saver to look over this last minute and help me get everything squared away for posting, even if I did end up getting out a little late. YOU’RE GREAT! Ike: Thank you for the Cheerleading. Now go write your goddamn fics. I know there’s something that still needs to be done. You post tomorrow. Chop Chop! Also ILU. Wall: Thank you for the harassment to write, even though half of that time you should have been writing yourself. And Sunryder: Thank you for the prompt and the kind words and being fantastic to work with. I blushed and held my face in my hands after that last email. You were a joy to work with, and as my first fandom challenge, it was a fantastic one. Also a thank you for the the people in skype and mibbit chat. You all should know who you are., thanks for every bit of encouragement you’ve sent along the way.

All of you are wonderful! Carry on ;)

Summary: There was a certain amount of job satisfaction to be derived from being an Angel of Death. And Erik Lehnsherr truly loved his job.

However, that satisfaction meant nothing when stacked against a young telepath that Erik just couldn’t seem to let go.

Rating: Mature

Other pairings: Charles/Moira

Warnings: A lot of talk of Death

Thoughts: I really enjoyed this setup and how Erik handled himself. However, in the end I was left a little confused about Moira’s whole role in the story, like a little wrapping up was needed. Overall still good though.

Here we go; the Wednesday Switcharound Meme update.

You know the drill:

  1. If your name isn’t on the list, it means that the person before you hasn’t finished their part yet.
  2. I might have screwed up on the file names. If the files don’t have their file extension names, just add .psd/.png/.jpg until it works. ’ u ’ b
  3. Let peer pressure take you, though really, take your time. We’re in no rush.

NOTICE: CONGRATULATIONS! All sketches are complete. <3 We’re slowly making our way to completion.
