Almost complete…just need to find a decal for the headstock, and then I am going to look into refinishing the headstock in glossy lacquer. I like “satin” finishes on the back of a neck, but I prefer a glossy headstock!
It looks like StewMac has redesigned their “Free-Way,” switch. I’ve always been interested in it, but I was scared off by the terrible reviews of its reliability. If nothing else it looks like they’ve managed to make the dimensions more reasonable & gotten rid of that ugly oversized metal paddle.
Testing out my new fret saw and miter box! Also pounded a piece of scrap fretwire to test it out! My teacher told me the miter box was worth getting and I felt like spoiling myself on the “japanese” fret saw. Worth the hefty price tag. Cuts wood like fuggin’ butter.
This was my first homemade build (actually it’s also my last…since I have not yet completed either of the 2 others I am currently working on!)
The body by Maverick Guitar Parts and was an unbelievable value for money. The neck is from Stew Mac and was also a bargain. Pickups are some Custom Shop something-or-others that came with another Tele I bought a long time ago, the tuners are Gotoh Vintage Locking.
