She wakes up to a bright light in her eyes. The blinds of window are open but the spot in the bed next to her is cold. Carmilla sits up, eyes slowly adjusting to the light of the room. She yawns and stretches out her arms. It’s 8:30. On a Sunday. She’s never awake that early. She’s about to stand from the bed when there’s a knock on the doorframe. Laura’s standing in it, a tray in her hands. She’s only wearing one of Carmilla’s shirts and her hair is still mussed from sleep. Carmilla grins. “Morning, sleepyhead.” She says and bounds forward, balancing the tray on her hands. She slips in the bed, Carmilla watching her with a small smile on her face. On the tray is two bowls of dry cereal. Carmilla laughs. Laura looks at her with a shrug. “I couldn’t sleep so I decided to bring you breakfast in bed. This is all we had.” The tray is between them and Carmilla leans over it to kiss Laura gently on the lips.
"I love it. I love you.” She tells her and Laura smiles. She makes a point to tell her every day how much she loves her, if only to see the way her grin lights up her face when she does.
"C’mon. Let’s eat." Laura says with a laugh and Carmilla reaches down into the cereal bowl, picking up a few pieces. She puts them against Laura’s lips. Laura laughs as she takes them from Carmilla’s fingers.
"Is that how this is going to go?" She remarks and Carmilla shrugs, getting another few pieces.
"Absolutely, cutie." She says and Laura grins.
