When it comes to speed, Usain Bolt is the gold standard.
The Jamaican sprinter has blown past records to cement himself at the top.
But he may have some competition, sort of.
Apparently, Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin is actually faster that Bolt over 40 meters.
The 20-year-old right back clocked in a 4.42 second 40 meter sprint, knocking Theo Walcott off the top of the internal Arsenal team records.
Now, let’s compare him to Usain Bolt. The official split time for Bolt’s 100 meter world record sprint clocks in at 4.64 seconds at 40 meters.
That would mean Bolt was lagging about two meters behind Bellerin when the Spanish defender hit 40 meters.
Bolt’s finished the 100 meter race in the record time of 9.58 seconds at the World Championships in Berlin and we’re pretty sure Bellerin would have been left in the dust in the last 60 meters.
But hey, who wouldn’t like to be compared to Bolt when it comes to sprinting?
