So I saw Les Mis last week and I have to admit I was completely new to it but I loved it! Well, I loved the music. It was epic. One thing I wasn't crazy about was the Marius and Cosette love story because it seemed to start so abruptly and I found it highly unlikely but maybe I'm being too critical? Thoughts?

i mean, 90% of musicals are about true love that blossomed in two seconds. and it’s tough to criticize because that’s how the musical is too, like it’s literally them bumping into each other and looking at each other and then singing love songs to each other three scenes later. i think it works for the show and it works for the period of time (that whole rushing into things~ because of the stakes of the upcoming battle and then how he almost died). yeah its quick and silly, but they’re young (they’re really all still teenagers in canon!) and i think it aides the theme of love and what the show is trying to say about it.

like, all of rent’s first act is supposed to happen in one day. musicals move quickly because the emotional beats are most important because that’s where the songs are.

omg all the episodes are themed episodes. it’s a cubist comedy~~

A lot of them are but just not all of them? It’s definitely increased over the years, even over the course of individual seasons. I enjoy them I’m just worried about all of the episodes being really heavily themed and it taking away from the plot and characters.

You said: Ditto on everything. I was afraid there wouldn’t be any themed episodes, but with the new promo, I feel like there will be too many. Also YES please save Britta she is the best and gets shit on way too much for her compassion.

There needs to be a balance and tbh I think it’s already a little too heavy. I think I’m just bitter because s1 is my baby. And man, Britta’s character development makes me so sad. I have so much faith in Dan Harmon and I don’t really know how that happened? She has always had certain goofy mannerisms or the tendency to do something stupid but I’m afraid it’s really gone off the deep end and I really really really hope she doesn’t end up as “stupid.” I mean especially because s1 and s2 Britta was like my favorite TV character maybe ever and I don’t see her any more agh

Whoa. I personally haven’t seen my face anywhere on there, but I honestly don’t know if it’s worth my time to file when I would get hardly anything out of it.

I got it too! It’s legit; it’s a real lawsuit and the email comes from facebookmail. I would just ignore it.

Yeah, I’m thinking the same thing. I could see if I saw my face personally being used for ads all over, but since I haven’t and I think they’re just trying to cover all their bases by sending it out to just about everyone, I don’t think I’m going to worry about it, really.

it’s not like themed episodes and character/plot development are mutually exclusive

And you’re totally right. But I’m worried about it becoming that way.

It’s crazy comparing S1 Britta to current Britta. I think the writers were so busy developing Abed into someone relatable and tragic in a way in S3 that they decided the group needed a new punching bag…and chose Britta. Ugh.

Britta’s always kind of been the punching bag but she’s becoming so silly that idk ugh

Ho-ly shit. Wow, wtf? Your poor friend. Is there a way that you and the other people who found this fishy would be able to sit down together with him so that you all can explain? That way he can’t just place his hurt on you? Such a tough situation :(

Yeah, I mean luckily I wasn’t the only one thinking this was weird, so maybe we’d have better luck having “power in numbers” so to speak.

I had that happen to a friend of mine too! It was in high school though, so the guy wasn’t as involved. I ended up just doing the reverse-Google image thing, sending her the link, and telling her that people knew that she was a poser. She deleted.

ugh, that’s so terrible. :/ I think it’s a crummy, awful thing to pull on anyone, but I feel like he’s really getting taken advantage of because this all started up just as his divorce was finalized and after he lost his job and had to leave everything he had worked for to come back to stay with his folks for a while. Not to mention he’s still upset about the death of his step-brother who was killed overseas a few years back-like I just feel this person knows he’s been through a lot of shit and is making things so much worse on purpose.
