Hello again cat lovers, cat haters, and those indifferent to the charms of the cat. It’s time for another episode of Feline Friday. We have here some illustrations by Otto Speckter for an 1856 edition of the tale of Puss in Boots. Speckter was a German artist who illustrated many children’s books in the mid-19th century, including early editions of Hans Christian Andersen’s fables.
The interrobang, also known as the interabang, /ɪnˈtɛrəbæŋ/, ‽ (often represented by ?! or !?), is a nonstandard punctuation mark used in various written languages and intended to combine the functions of the question mark (also called the “interrogative point”) and the exclamation mark or exclamation point (known in printers’ and programmers’ jargon as the “bang”). The glyph is a superimposition of these two marks. The word itself is an example of a portmanteau which incorporates an onomatopoeia. #Wikipedia #Interrobang #Wadadadang #GiveThanks #Speckter
I had a mega of fun in the summer of 2012. One of highlights was the BoomTown fair. It was the 4th time I had been. This year I was working as a photographer for the Bodyshop. The Bodyshop is a crazy rave venue within the festival. The crew that organised their madcap event grew up on rave culture and managed to get some serious underground shaping talent performing for an audience that was more than just up for it. To mix work and pleasure is pure gold. These are some of my favourites from the weekend. They may not be the best shots of the lot, but they mean more to me than that. All these Dj’s destroyed me with their amazing music yet inspired me to push on. What a sumer of fun it was….
