Summer Nights in the City

Dublin is electric at night and last night was no exception! One of my favourite part’s of the city is South William Street, especially on a summer’s evening. It is packed with fantastic restaurants, cafe’s, bars and hipsters. It has a very European feel to it with outdoor terraces for eating.

During the day you can go shopping in the beautiful historic Powerscourt building and by night people spill out onto the cobbled streets giving South William Street a fun, lively vibe. My favourite places to eat and drink are;

The Port House (Great for Tapas & Sangria)

Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Pygmalion (Live outdoor music & drinks)

Calzone Cafe (Desserts)

Bagots Hutton (Great wine selection)

Here are a few photos from South William Street last night;

After dinner on South William Street Simon and I headed over to see what was happening on Dame Lane. Another lively part of town! There was live music outdoors and a very crowded lane. We sat outside The Mercantile with a drink listening to the bands perform. The crowd were good craic as the Irish would say! They were all up dancing and singing in the street.
