New Post: Lucie Loves… the NEW @SimplyBeUK store #VIP opening by #TOWIE's @MissGemCollins @Highcross Leicester #fashion #news
Last Thursday, 27th April 2012, I attended the @SimplyBeUK store VIP Launch event @Highcross shopping centre in Leicester.
The new SimplyBe store was opened by a ribbon-cutting by the one & only Gemma Collins from the TV programme - The Only Way is Essex aka TOWIE.
SimplyBe’s Hannah Partridge welcomes customers and TOWIE fans.
Excitement filled the air, both inside the store and out, as fans gathered around waiting for a glimpse of both the TV star and the equally gorgeous array of new Simply Be Spring/Summer fashion on display.
Canapés and Champagne flutes of bubbly were the order of the evening and were handed out to VIP guests to sip demurely as they browsed SimplyBe’s latest Spring/ Summer collection. For many customer’s this was the first time they had ever been to an actual SimplyBe retail store, and when asked what they thought, they explained that they usually shopped online - which was great! - but that it was even better to be able to touch, see and try the clothes on in the comfort of the lovely SimplyBe fitting rooms.
SimplyBe’s Sophie Beard explained to me that what makes the store unique is that customers are entitled to have a free Style Consultation from one of their in-store Consultants to help with any fashion dilemma’s they may feel they are facing and a free Lingerie Fitting Service with bra sizes* from 32-50 B-L Cup (*available in selected lines) to ensure that ladies are wearing the right size bra. The correct bra can make a HUGE difference to how an outfit looks!
The SimplyBe staff were very warm and welcoming, as was TOWIE star Gemma Collins who lit up the room in her fabulous SimplyBe Angel Ribbons Leopard Print High Low Hem Dress and skyscraper heels. Gemma looked glamourous as always - a true inspiration for ladies who love their curves, when she came in to cut the ribbon for the official store opening. I grabbed an obligatory glass of fizz and then began to explore the new store… and yes the brownies were amazing!!

It was great to meet the lovely SimplyBe Customers! Gorgeous girlies!
Catalogues are on hand in-store for customers to take away and browse at their leisure.

SimplyBe are part of a wider group of brands that specialise in clothing for the curvier lady, which include the likes of Figleaves, JD Williams and now also Jacamo which does plus-size fashion for men.
I really liked this Boho Print Maxi Dress - the perfect holiday dress to go from Beach to Bar… and it was priced at just £36! Very reasonable! Sizes available in 14 - 32.
Another favourite piece in the SimplyBe Spring/ Summer collection to catch my eye was this ravishing Grazia Floral Print Maxi Kaftan. It was just stunning! So floaty and feminine! Available in sizes 14 - 32 and priced at £45.
This is the Angel Ribbons Leopard High Low Hem Dress with accompanying belt that Gemma was wearing from SimplyBe’s latest collection, priced at £50 and available in sizes 14-32. It’s available online now but will hit the Highcross store in the next couple of weeks!
The great thing that I found, which I’ve never seen in other fashion retail stores, were the ‘Browse & Order Here’ points complete with a sumptuous velvet seat on which to perch and peruse the SimplyBe Online catalogue - should that ‘Must-have’ item be out of stock in store you can have a look online here and get it ordered to your home or for pick-up from your local store. Great!
It was very nice to meet the SimplyBe Chief Exec. Alan White, Head of Retail Development - Beverley Jamieson and the SimplyBe Store Designer - James Hagger.

Overall… it was a fabulous launch and ever-so refreshing to see the latest SS12 fashion trends translated and made accessible for the curvier lady. After all… who wants to wear a miserable shapeless tent or a terribly ill-fitting button-down blouse!?
Well done SimplyBe!
I’ll see you soon! x
