this is legit stuff, but i think the problem with liking/not liking skyler is that a lot of people tend to go “UUUUGH WOMAN BITCH”

TBH, my bf loves the show and I can’t watch it because I want to throttle everyone in it. Skyler was the biggest one for me because she seemed such an Awful Woman. All of them are bad, yeah, but Skyler just takes the cake for me.

I think people like seeing her dragged down in the justification that Walt has inundated himself with- her “good”-ness (situation considered) compared to Walt’s rapidly declining justification.
I am aware of the pitfalls of the “woman character = weak/bad character” and she’s not a weak character, she is developed and filled out and has preferences and desires and needs that are legitimate.
She most likely craves understanding, is so desperate to know why she feels dissatisfied with Walt that she believes it has something to do with him changing so she demands communication at the most inopportune times in rather blunt ways. Repeating “Talk to me, talk to me” is awkward and open ended and of course Walt hesitates (though only half of that is the context, the rest is his resistance to share any information) so she grows more frustrated and more dissatisfied.
I was frustrated to watch all of this transpire. Frustrated at Walt’s selfishness and pridefulness and Skyler’s selfishness and isolating behavior. So far no one can tell me why I shouldn’t consider her an awful person with poor decision making ability.
