spit it out!

This is common, she thought persistently. Approaching her lousy companion for life shouldn’t be too strange, mainly not seeking for certain mutual understatement even when it’s the last of things she desired.

At most, to keep things going swimmingly at home. Touka would wait until the other was not busy in order to approach, seeming casual as if it was nothing. In reality, she was being eaten away by her own nerves.

"Would you like to go on a date?" She fell silent almost immediately, a violet eye observing statically the other when the realization fell down upon her. Cheeks tainted of a bright red, she is quick to hide most of her features behind her bangs before it’s too notorious.

"I meant, hang out…! To get to know each other…!!"

✿ Nice To Meet You, Good To See You || CLOSED ✿

The time to meet her parents had finally arrived and while she hadn’t even been assigned a fiance yet (much to her relief) the boss she worked for had been more than eager to shove her on shift first instead of allowing her the morning to introduce herself to her new family and get acquainted with her new home. On her lunch hour she had sent both women a rather frantic and hastily-written text message apologizing for being unable to meet them when originally planned and at the end of the text she had asked if the two of them would mind picking her up from her shift once it ended. After all, she had no idea where the apartment was located and it would be dangerous to wander alone at night despite having the power of the cards with her at all times.

When a confirmation was received shortly after, the brunette had returned to work though, admittedly, she was too preoccupied with anxious thoughts of her family-to-be to focus on tasks at hand and once her shift came to an end, her boss had seemed thrilled to let her clock-off. Swearing to do a better job tomorrow, the young teen yanked her apron off and darted outside clumsily with pink cheeks and a weary expression to match. In her shaking hands were two ice cream cones— one pink for strawberry and the other brown for chocolate. It wasn’t much, but it would be rude to meet someone empty-handed. Her real father had taught her that since a young age.

Her father, brother, Syaoran, Tomoyo, Yukito, and Kero were the only ones she cared to see right now but she hadn’t been given the chance. The thought of not having them around made her want to cry but the girl quickly blinked back the tears threatened to gather in the corners of her eyes and hung her head low with embarrassment when two girls approached her. ‘Everything will be alright!' She needed to always remember that… These girls had to be her parents… She had dreamt of their faces the night before and knew she wasn't wrong. Her prophetic dreams had never failed her before.

Attempting a smile now, she held out the frozen treats and tried to ignore her trembling hands as she did so.

H-Hello! It’s nice to meet you! My name is Sakura Kinomoto!" A pause followed her introduction before she looked around quickly, as if the trees or ground would have the answers to whatever more she could say to the two strangers. "Um… I don’t know what flavor you like but I made these at work for you…!

Wondering whether this situation could be more illogical was not an option, for there is a chance it may surprise her. For instances, a ghoul could not reproduce and that made her reconsider if it was for the best she has been paired with a female. A frown decorates her features, this task has become far more complicated than she thought. More than worrying for the marriage, she was concerned about handling her life as before.

She remains idle in her seat, awaiting for the right words to come but before she can come with a good speech — she already was in presence of her… wife? What a sour term to use, there is no way in the world she was willing to label this person as such.

"Hi?" Awful beginning. She shook her head immediately and stood up, quick to place a rather small box that had a ribbon on the top. For presents, she thought a batch of cookies would suit perfectly to lighten the mood.

"Uh, I got you this!" She pushed it on her way, trying to place all focus on the present rather than herself. She ignored fully whether these were good or not but hey, humans enjoyed sweets, did they not? If she can get on this girl’s good side, she will be able to worry less.

"I don’t like what they are doing to us but…I’d really prefer for this to go as civilized as possible…"
