Spirorbis spirorbis

…is not a snail, but is actually a small species of coiled polychaete worm that is found along the coasts of Britain, Ireland and Norway. S.spirorbis is usually found attached to seaweeds and eel grass, but it lives primarily on members of the genus Fucus. Once it attaches the small worm will use its feather-like tentacles to filter the water around it for nutrients. It also has one tentacle which is larger than the others, this tentacle is shaped like a saucer and is used as an operculum.
