A nice little bit of hand painted type here by Sahlen.  Sahlen developed this full typeface by hand painting including upper and lower case including punctuation which he says works well in single words. This most interesting thing I found about this particular typeface is the manner in which Sahlen has used it. He has laser cut into a board of wood in quite a jumbled fashion before adding a finish to the wood which i think looks really nice and shows of the type well. The typeface has also been applied to a book in which it has been burnt onto. Sahlen has used hand crafted work throughout this project and created different outcomes which look really nice.

Fast Start In Rolex 24 Key To Winning Four-Race Patrón Endurance Cup

The Tequila Patrón  North American Endurance Cup is a 52-hour endurance competition that encompasses the four marquee endurance races on the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship schedule: the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida, Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen and the Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda.

With points awarded at specific intervals throughout each race, the Rolex 24 takes on added importance as the race with the most segments. The leader at the end of each segment scores five points, four points are awarded for second, three points for third and fourth-place on back receives two points. Points will be scored in the Rolex 24 at the six, 12 and 18 hour marks, and the finish.

Three of last year’s four Rolex 24 class winners went on to win the season-long Patrón Endurance Cup with the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP (Prototype), No. 54 CORE autosport ORECA FLM09 (PC) and No. 555 AIM Autosport Ferrari 458 Italia (GTD) taking home the honor at the TUDOR Night of Champions postseason awards celebration.

The No. 912 Porsche North America team won the Patrón Endurance Cup in GTLM after finishing ninth in the Rolex 24, while it was the team’s No. 911 Porsche 911 RSR that won the Rolex 24.

“It is incredibly exciting to be back in the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup,” said Scott Sharp, owner and driver, Tequila Patrón ESM, who will contest all four Patrón Endurance Cup races in 2015. “All four of those events are key global endurance races that every team and driver wants to win. Everyone at Tequila Patrón ESM is excited to bring our brand-new Honda coupes to tackle these tough events.”

While all four Patrón Endurance Cup races stand together as the most iconic endurance races in North America, to win the four-race competition it  almost certainly will require a fast start and solid finish in maybe the biggest of them all — the Rolex 24. http://nascarne.ws/1Bmb6nC #NASCAR
