From the ETDC interview with richeybeckett

'ETDC: For ‘David & Goliath’ did you need to submit rough sketches for approval? How involved were the folks at New Republic?

RB: Absolutely, although my rough sketches are always very rough indeed. I always hope that whoever receives it can visually piece together what I see as the final image, knowing my style and translating that from the rough sketch.’

Richey Beckett is an illustrator based in South Wales, UK. He works in pen and ink, creating original illustrations for record cover artwork, shirt design and poster art. Some of his clients include Metallica, Mastodon, Converge, Kvelertak, Trash Talk, New Found Glory, Sick Of It All, Mondo (Game Of Thrones/Lord Of The Rings/Army Of Darkness).

I’m very pleased to announce that my GAME OF THRONES ‘Bran Stark’ illustration will be released tomorrow by MONDO as a limited edition screen print. The huge 24” x 36” piece is printed in three colours on 100lb French Speckletone Paper, has an edition of 365 and costs $45.

Keep your eyes on the MONDO site and twitter feed as they’ll announce it’s release at a random time tomorrow! and @mondonews on twitter.

I’ve been inundated with enquiries about this print, but had to keep it’s release under wraps - so if you know anyone who will be interested please tag them in this post and share. Thanks.

'The Wizard', my contribution to the amazing BLACK SABBATH art show, which opens tomorrow night at THE FLOOD GALLERY, Greenwich (London, UK).

'The Wizard' will be available as a limited edition 18 x 24” screen print - 75 regular and 25 in a variant colour. There will also be a set of just 40 extra large 24 x 36” prints. These will all be available at the opening reception (Thursday 25th July), and online at following the launch. Also on display will be a host of Sabbath inspired artwork, including pieces by my good friends and wonderful artists Scott Move, Godmachine and Glyn Smyth. We’ll all be attending the opening night so please come along, listen to some Sabbath, share a beer and say ‘hi!’.

'Phantom Lord' artwork for METALLICA. Released over the weekend at Metallica’s ‘Orion Music Festival’ as a shirt and poster, this piece was personally commissioned by Mr Hetfield to celebrate 30 years since the release of ‘Kill ‘Em All’. It goes without saying that it’s a huge honour to have been invited to work on this.

I will have a strictly limited run of 100 screen prints of the artwork, available later this month. Sign up to my mailing list for more details!
