fuckin’ lay off it. no. lay the fuck off.
i’m pissed. i’m tired of these “fandom” games. i am so sick and tired of these scathing accusations from people behind shiny LED screens.
does hiding behind your precious computer make it so enjoyable to throw rocks at celebrities and watch them writhe? i know celebrity/kpop idol culture makes it easy to put these kids on a pedestal and become deluded that they’re different from the rest of us humans, but you are still responsible for how you react. nothing in life or in this universe is a one-way track. everything is connected. rid yourself of that hazardous lie right now. that’s when your soul can really start to see.
but people don’t do this. the internet is a wonderful place, but people are using the power of anonymity to become lazy, careless, and irresponsible for how they interact with other human beings. when you use your computer or whatever technological machine to express yourself- someone else, another person, is at the other end reading it and filing it away somewhere in their minds. your thought, which is now in a visible form, doesn’t just go out into the abyss of the universe. no, you are NOT invisible- people do see the things you choose to say. and your words do affect people, directly or indirectly.
y’all international inspirits who hang on to every tidbit that gets through to you from the k-inspirit fandom- do you realize that k-inspirits see you too? yeah. they’re not fucking stupid. korea is very literate and they know english. they see your shit and post your gifs. that means they also see your crazy ass spazzing about which otps are “real” and “fucking”, who you wish would fuck you, and who you think is gay.
the freedom of expression is a funny thing. it’s significant because humans can’t seem to keep to themselves and they long to be known and understood. but it’s terrifying when you don’t realize or don’t care how it affects others. yeah, you’re free to speculate about other people and write your opinion on them. but fucking take responsibility for yourself. it’s the responsibility of others for how they react, but if you shoot a bullet into the fog, and it hits someone- are you innocent? the fuck you are. you may or may not have had malicious intent, but that was your bullet.
as you might’ve guessed by now- this isn’t fuckin’ about sungjong’s sexuality. you know that? i don’t give a flying FUCK about his sexuality. that’s not relevant when it comes to my perception or affection for him. it may be a huge part of his self-identity if he choose it to be, but either way, it’s none of our business. you know how when you go to a family reunion and all your annoying, loud ass aunties are demanding to know if you have a boyfriend? and you’re like, omg it’s none of their business they don’t know my life? yeah. that’s everyone. and that includes idols. just because you buy their albums and cry over their faces doesn’t somehow magically give you VIP access to their private lives. SUNGJONG’S SEXUALITY ISN’T EVER YOUR BUSINESS TO DISCUSS. EVER. i don’t care if you are a sexuality expert with telepathy/legilimency and an MD out of an ivy fuckin’ league. i don’t care if you get paid to speak on it. i don’t care if the actual UN, or the president and his mother are talking about it!!!
i know not everyone who has done this or written other invasive posts did it out of spite or any ill intentions, but even so- it doesn’t change that it can negatively impact sungjong, his family, his career, his members, etc. because not everyone will react to your words the same way you intended them- they might take your thoughts and turn them into fodder for their perverse campaigns. we already had sunggyu drinking because people JOKED that his solo failed, woohyun diet because of body image, dongwoo being called stupid, hoya struggling with sexuality speculations, sungyeol feeling depressed because of his image and being called useless, and myungsoo becoming heartbroken because of his dating “scandal.” now, sungjong’s been suffering from these stupid rumors and his gender image and whatnot for a while now, but it needs to stop. it needs to stop being a thing.
international fandom isn’t quite as loudly heard as kfandom just because it’s korean pop, but it’s the internet, people still see all kinds of shit. so everyone, please be more careful about what you say…even the opinions you thought were harmless and “just for fun” or “just my imagination” will still affect your beloved stars in the long run. i feel 떳떳해, but the second i hear that my blog is causing someone to labor under certain delusions or is being used as evidence or inspiration for gross opinions, i will vanish it from thy sight. i promise you that. this is exactly why i was so disturbed by myungyeol fans getting so upset about my myungyeol post a while back.
oh and also, those shitty ass “person A did this shit with person B from company Z” posts? ignore them. those posts ain’t SHIT. they’re just trying to hit as many targets that just might fit the bill as they can. it’s like if someone went into a party and attached pieces of drugged meat to everyone and then released a pack of blinded dogs, like some kind of perverse bingo game where everyone loses but some especially lose it big.
protect sungjong (and INFINITE ofc) if not with your words, then your silence.
