AUDRATHERAPPER AT SRBs

Hey There Tumbletons!

I’ve fallen off AGAIN, with the written post!  Aaaaghhh! :(  Sorry, I’m trying to be better… starting now!

I don’t know about you all, but I have been having GREAT weekend— which is exactly what a weekend should be!  The awesome started on Friday when I went to check out my homegirl AudraTheRapper perform at SRBs in Brooklyn at the SoundsStage Live Concert Series.   There were so many great acts and performers, a couple that you may be seeing on QuÉricaTV in the future.  Yes, they were just that good that I need to share them with you.

She killed the stage and I got it all on video.  I know what you’re thinking “Please, share, share, share!”   And don’t worry love muffins, I totally will… in one of the next episodes of  QuÉricaTV, so make sure you keep checking them out!

Until then enjoy these photos from the night of Audra and members of her Tribe.  And I’ll give you a juicy tidbit… 2 other members of the group pictures are the ones who may appear in future episodes.  Lemme know if you can guess which! ;)

Tumbletons!

There has been so much goodness that I have wanted to share with you over the past couple of days and weeks.  So much that sometimes I wish I had a camera crew following me around, just so I could keep you in touch and up-to-date with all of random, unplanned, blessed, #liverich moments that I experience on a daily basis.  I can write and write and write, but I can’t even begin to express it all.

Over the past couple of days I have been a hot mess (in the best way possible) in terms of life and its happenings— from traveling back and forth between NJ and MD planning wedding stuff, to freelance work, jewelry shows, Spring showing its face, and everything in-between— I’m feeling ALIVE and like I’m on the verge of something AMAZING happening.  There’s really no other way to say this other than I. FEEL. GOOD!  If there was a away to insert a dancing James Brown GIF here I would.  lol.

So, the first up on the most exciting things that have happened recently is the the premiere of my newest show, The Underground with Erica Lasan which was done in collaboration with the AMAZING team at BlackAndSexyTV!  Like seriously, not to sound cliché, but it is kinda like a life dream come true lol.  I am a STAN for Black And Sexy’s programming.  About a year and a half ago (I can’t even remember how) I happened to come across a mini-sode of their original show The Couple.   I kid you not, I watched that minisode at 2AM or something, and for the next 3 hours or so I stayed up and watched every episode of everything they had on their YouTube channel— I even remember posting the minisode and sharing it on my Facebook wall.  I was hooked.  I loved all of the shows (at that point I think they only had 2 shows, The Couple and The Number) and I couldn’t get enough.  The shows were so real and I could relate to Chic’s character (played by B&STV co-founder, writer, and star Numa Perrier), so much with many of the couple’s scenarios having happened for real in my life.  Classic.

Fast forward a year, I happened to be in Brooklyn shooting b-roll at a friend’s performance for an episode of my YouTube show QuÉricaTV, and I so happened to check my instagram and also got a message at the same time from my bestie (who’d just moved to Cali), letting me know that Black And Sexy was having a fan meet-and-greet in Brooklyn not too far from where I already was.  Thank God I drove my car into the City that night (or else I probably would’ve missed it) but I hopped in the car and headed over.  The festivities were kind of starting to die down some, but I just had to meet the brains behind the operation and tell them how much I loved their shows.  That’s when the below happened and I spent the next couple of hours talking to Numa and Dennis about randomness, life, dreams and aspirations.

Fast fasssst forward to present day— less than a year later— it’s crazy to see myself on their network and to know that their fans enjoy the show we’ve been working so hard to put together the past couple of months.  It is truly humbling, inspiring, makes want me do a happy dance and hug strangers.  Moments like this let me know that God exists, knows my desires, and hears my prayers even when they are not spoken out loud; Moments like this are also the reason why I always say (and in my deepest of hearts believe) that everything happens for a reason.  We are the sum of our experiences, and every little accomplishment creates every great milestone.

The past year has been a really trying one for me (I will elaborate another time in another post), but experiences like this validate that the struggle is real, but even the littlest tastes of success are so sweet that it just makes me want to work harder and continue on the path that I’m on no matter how testing it may be.  I feel this, I know this, and it’s just the tip of the iceburg— but I am ready to take on the the challenge if it means one day being able to say “I dreamed it and now I’m living it”.

To everyone who has watched the first episode of The Underground with Erica Lasan, left a comment, said a nice/encouraging word, double tapped to like, and hit a share button I say the sincerest of “thank yous”.  And to the Black And Sexy fam, thanks for seeing me and recognizing some random fun in the mess (and probably too-much) of a conversation had that night.  haha Your love and support is much appreciated and I look forward to providing you with more fun videos!
